Yeah those are the aux in to the head unit. Didnt have time to check the wiring via multimeter but visually it looks fine and plugs click in to module well enough. Will get it plugged in and see what the Skoda system says.

On the bottom of the quad lock it was pins 1,2,4 &7 were connected. Skoda confirmed car was built with mdi and aux options so its all certainly meant to be there and working.

So went to Skoda garage and got a bit of help but not plugged in. They suggested resetting the mdi control unit so i stripped glove box out and disconnected the unit at both ends. Left it a few mins. Plugged back in and nothing changed. Think i might need to get it actually plugged in and checked.

Yeah I suppose. Got another adaptor coming tomorrow so will try it and see how it goes. If it doesnt work then will get proper mdi to 3.5mm cable.

Ok so if both aux port and mdi can be fitted does anyone have any idea why the aux port wouldnt be working or be able to be turned in in the settings like its meant to? Read some old posts that suggests it needs coded on but that seems excessive when the hardware is all there i would have thought it would already be turned on.

Thanks for the reply. If the aux in the arm rest worked it would be perfect for me but like i say there is no option on the head unit to turn it on so had assumed it was because of the mdi.

Hi there. I have just picked up a 2011 Octavia VRS diesel. I noticed there was a n aux connection in the armrest. When i plug in to this nothing happens. I tried pressing the media button and tried to enable aux in the setup but it does not appear at all. Last night i was in the glove box and noticed there is the old fashion ipod cable connected to what I think is the mdi connection. So i thought perhaps the aux has been disconnected to make way for the mdi. Removed head unit and found there is a blue plug at the bottom of the multi plug which i assume is the mdi but cannot see any disconnected wires or plus that would have been the aux. So my question is can there only be an mdi or aux connection at anyone time? If so does anyone know where my aux wiring might be? And lastly of not has anyone had any luck connecting a blue tooth receiver to the mdi connection or at least a usb and aux connection through mdi?
