  1. Yeah, its the same with colours really isn't it, not to everyone's taste. My choice was between the Sportline and the Scout but i preferred the slightly smaller wheel size of the Scout (and it worked out much cheaper for me) for the better ride. This gives me an in between, looks-wise, but it clearly won't be for everyone when it comes to resale!
  2. No, because of the way the rear lights are uneven, I think it would be a tough job. Also opens you to being pulled over by cops who don't think it's legal.
  3. I got the calipers done while I was at it, would look ace if you have everything else pretty much done.
  4. Car came back from the shop today after being de-chromed, man it was a big piece of work. Originally it was all to be wrapped, but the only things that are wrapped now are the chrome bits around the windows. The grill is actually connected to the front end, so the bumper had to be taken off and then the grill dismantled individually. The roof rails are bolted in underneath the liner, to access it you would have to bring down the whole liner which is a bit of a pain nowadays apparently. So they ended up being sprayed with the griThell surround. Middle pic is obviously pre dechrome, I think it's comeback really well. The last bit to complete the look is the badges and lettering to be blacked
  5. Mine has snapped twice now, passenger front door every time. They told me it must have got caught in an item of clothing or something the first time (possible, but shows a what a crap design it is) but i have noticed on the driver side it also has failed to jump back in quick enough and got stuck a couple times (lucky i didn't push the door hard enough to snap it). I've not bothered replacing it since, they're cool to have but pointless if they're not engineered and implemented correctly, clearly they're not IMO.
  6. So this is where we are at currently, stupidly I didn't take before pics but it was a basic white Skoda Kodiaq Scout (I'll grab some pics off the net for comparison). Up to now I've had the following done: - matte black sprayed alloys and calipers - side mirrors matte black - front and rear diffusers matte black to match - rear windows tinted a couple shades higher I have it booked in for early September to get the roof rails and chrome to be wrapped in matte black to match and then finally the badges will be replaced with black ones and a full detail. I did have a plan to get the whole roof wrapped in black, but now I have it like this I'm worried it will be too much black and the roof rails will just blend into the roof making it a bit pointless! So I'll get all this done and see how it looks, before making a decision on the roof. Really happy with the work upto now, nothing over the top, just hints. EDIT: Apologies about the poor quality pics, it was starting to rain and the light was pretty low when i got it, so had to rush!
  7. Agree, just have much more confidence that you can overtake someone when needed. Mine was much cheaper, i think it came around £330ish in total. But i picked the cheaper options, you can get extra HP and pay extra so that it's transferrable, but i read something in the RaceChip terms that there was still a fee to get this done (not sure if it's the same for DTUK?) There's def positives for a tuning box, but i still think if you're keeping the car and are genuinely looking for some increases that will be proven on a Dyno, then a proper remap is the way to go. If you're not sure if you will keep the car, then tuning box it.
  8. How have you found DTE's tuning box? I have RaceChips and feel like the cars transformed.
  9. 100%, if you're looking for good figures on a dyno then a stage 1 remap is def the way to go and you should be able to get one for good value. Like i said, im an idiot
  10. It really depends what you're looking to improve. The pedal box doesn't change anything except regulating what happens and how fast the response is from when you put your foot on the accelerator. I use it to remove the lag between the pedal and the gearbox on DSG's. If you have a manual, then i assume there won't be any change (and you might not even be able to install it).
  11. I've had the Pedal Box for a while now, it just gives you more confidence when you put your foot down that the car will move of from a roundabout etc. I turned it off a couple of times and realised quick that i couldn't drive like that again. Personally, the pedal box is a no brainer and a few on here have also done it, IIRC.
  12. I know to most purists this is a big no no, considering 1, it's a 7 seater and not really meant to go fast and 2, engine remaps should always be considered before a tuning box and 3, whether it really makes a difference is debatable. Taking all of that out of the equation, because i'm an idiot, i went and ordered a tuning box from RaceChip (after already buying the pedal box from them previously) and fitted it in yesterday. So it's not as easy to fit as i thought it would be, mainly because the clips are so difficult to open and a couple of the connections are really tough to get to in my engine bay, but i managed to get it all done in about 20-30mins (would have been less if i had smaller hands!). Took it for a quick run on the dual carriageway with the factory setting out of the box for the box and the lower end seems to be pretty much the same, unless you change to sport mode and adjust the pedal box accordingly, but the mid to higher range feels different. Much more torque and seems to be giving more than it was before. I went for the basic box which in their theory, takes mine from 190 to 214bhp and adds 70nm of torque. I would personally recommend it, but obviously its completely up to you. These can be removed, but i assume Skoda could still tell there were changes if they connected to the ecu, if they really really wanted to.
  13. I've still got 2 MTB bikes in the back of mine (lazy) after going to a trail on Sunday. They easily fit in with the front wheel off, in fact we took the back wheels off on the way there but realised that wasn't really needed. Plenty of space for your bikes and all the equipment you need, i reckon you could probably even fit 3 bikes in there. Best to put something between the bikes, if you have expensive ones, so they dont scratch or anything. Obviously this was done with both the back row seats down.
  14. Oh right, i'm in Stockport so you might even see me driving around if i get this done
  15. A guy at work did this on his Seat Leon i think, he has the FR so it made sense. I'm not sure how much i would use the paddles tbh, it's hardly got hurtling speed I do prefer the flat bottom steering wheel though and my seats are also Alacantra so that would fit in nicely. Did you fit it in yourself? IIRC my mate did it himself on the Seat.
  16. I've had a couple quotes, just another pending. Here's what I have on the list at the moment: Wrap roof/roof rails Full dechrome New badges (black tinted clear) including scout badges on sides Alloys, hubs and callipers gloss Black Rear diffuser and front spoiler gloss black Mirrors gloss black Tinted rear windows
  17. I'm pretty sure i'm going to get most of the chrome wrapped, in case i ever sell it the next owner can make their own decision on chrome vs black. I've found some examples online of ones close to what i'm looking for, If/when i get it done i'll put some pics on so everyone can make their minds on whether it was a good decision or not 😁
  18. I have a white kodiaq Scout (190) and I'm thinking of adding black pack styling to it. De chromed to black, wheels, badges, lip at front and back and maybe the roof as well. I know the sportsline comes with some of that but I've not seen an example Scouts with anything similar. Has anyone come across one, or had it done themselves?
  19. So I just spoke to skoda today to book in my car, the plastic door stop that comes out when you open the door didn't retract with the door when closing, so it got stuck in the door and snapped off. Obviously some issue with the mechanism. Also wanted them to check the dpf light as suggested on here. Couple of weird things, he said I could have a hire car but had to pay & £18 for it and wait till March! He then said that dependent on what they find with the dpf there may be a £90 diagnostic charge. Told him to keep his courtesy car, I'll just walk home! And there's no way in a million years I'll pay them for a diagnostic check on a car I only for in march last year
  20. It can, but I use data from my work phone which is on a corporate plan, so unlimited data. Otherwise you could just save the films and videos they like to the ipad, I do that for long haul flights..
  21. I've seen that it says DVD underneath the disc drive, but we funnily enough don't even have any DVD's to try it out i find it easier to just hotspot my phone and connect the ipads so they can watch YouTube/Netflix
  22. The wipers are terrible, don't know what else to say about them tbh.
  23. Second one. It might be as design as this is the first stop/start i've had.
  24. Checked my battery yesterday, its not a MOLL (can't remember what it was but it was def not a MOLL.
  25. I had the Huawei Mate Pro 20 and it ended up going back after i had 4 of them. First one didn't even launch with Android Auto, second one launched but couldn't make any calls with phone app on AA, 3rd one had the dreaded green screen and the same with the 4th one, but they all had various issues with AA. If you search on Facebook, you'll see there is a group about the various issues that Huawei phones have with AA. I ended up getting a Pixel 3XL and that's worked fine.
