  1. Having had my windscreen replaced some months ago the rain sensor has now become partially unstuck. Has anyone re fixed these or know if it uses a gel or adhesive pad. Thanks.
  2. Have progressed on this. The sensor has become unstuck from the screen, if you wobble it around and push it hard to the screen it works. Has anyone tried to stick a sensor back onto the screen, looks like the headlining will need to come down ?
  3. Hi All. Intermittent wipe has stopped, I am assuming its the sensor and not the switch as the function males 1 wipe when it is switched on, no codes showing up. Has anyone had this or changed the sensor please ?
  4. Will try that one keef690, I have had no issues with mine since the weather improved ( no its not the coolant sensor ). The biggest factor in my mind was I gave it a good pasting on a 3 hour motorway journey so everything got really nice an hot. It has spent a lot of time sitting on the drive and only doing the supermarket run, during lockdown. It has never done it since. I will get a 100 relay and sit on it . If it does do it again will change that next.
  5. Thanks Tejcho. English is fine, and welcome.
  6. Thanks all. Fairly certain that is the only light that is not 100 pcent. Will change it as a matter of course, probably has water ingress. Hope that knocks the warning light out.
  7. Thanks, this is a 2011 Mk 2. Would you know if this is monitored or not ?
  8. I have the duff bulb warning light up, went all round the car and could find no issues with any of the lights. Then noticed that a couple of the leds were out in the tailgate stop light. Does anyone think this would cause the bulb warning light to come on please .
  9. Unfortunately not. I did change the GlowPlug relay as a formality really. Is it still works fine for a couple of weeks even though it is being used every day and then one morning just does it. Couple of turns of the key on and off or leave it for 10 mins and then glow plug lights on and fires up. Once it has started in the morning it has never done it again during that day. Its obviously an electrical contact somewhere. No fault codes show which is the frustrating bit. I know we are not alone, Passats with the 2l diesel suffer from it as well. My feel is that is might be the electric lift pump which should fire up as you unlock the car. All the normal suspects such as coolant sensor, ignition switch, keys are fine. I really don't feel like keep replacing items on the hope that I might get it right one day. If anyone else has cured this issue it would be good to hear from them.
  10. Interesting. Not my experience of glow plugs and diesel engine. The temp sensor will normally activate them below about 5C . Anyone have any thoughts on original question re the relay please.
  11. Hi. All. Its that time of year, my TDI 2.0 Mk2 2011 glow plug light initially does not come on, so obviously with temps as they are the car will not start. After 2 or 3 tries the glow plug light comes on, goes out as normal and car starts. I am fairly certain its not a glow plug as the would normally show as the glow plug light staying on or flashing, in my experience. I am thinking relay is getting a bit tired. Not sure if that's possible or do they either work or not ? Battery good and fully charged, no codes coming up. Any thoughts gratefully received as always.
  12. Many thanks for the replies, looks like it was just fitted with std lamps and washers.
  13. Hi All. Not my strong point as more of an engine man. My Mk2 AWD SE is fitted with headlamp washers. Which as far as I know are only fitted to cars with Zenon lights. I came to change a bulb a couple of weeks ago and they are H7. Is it possible the previous owner could have changed them from Zenon ( I assume its a different holder ) ? Or could they have just purchased the Headlamp washers as an extra even though it had std lights ?
  14. Thanks. Thought so , just having a job finding a ring spanner that will fit in.
