access to the far side of the unit is achievable but there is a lot of plastic in the way preventing the large isoblock connector from going anywhere. The plastic 'cage around the HU seems to be the problem there.

Does anybody know how to get the double din units to fit in the dash properly as mine seems to have a huge iso block preventing it going back far enough:(

Beginning to wish i had not bothered:( Unit is now all working and i can't get it to fit into the dash properly. I've tried everything i can think of an it just wont fit. The problem seems to be the isoblock connector which is preventing the unit sliding back far enough to be screwed in place. If i can't get it to fit properly then it will have to go back even after all the work it's taken to get to this point:( Any ideas guys?

Do you really need a 4x4/high ride height/offroad/thing? E.G. Do you live on a farm? (please god tell me your not a newage SUV yuppie:rolleyes: There are plenty of other cars in the Skoda range that would be more acommodating and more suitable for everyday driving with a family imho. I find my Octavia est is good at pretty much anything and my mothers Fabia est is just a smaller version of'. I've no experience of the roomster but i know someone with a superb and he says its an executive cruiser and so a little over kill for family days out maybe:) D

Just spoken to my agent again and he says it looks as if the wrong CANBUS adapter was sent out. Just waiting for the supplier to confirm and replace. So close now...

Thanks for replying. 1. The CDC is not really a major issue just a little dissapointing because i can see it on the menu and it's laughing at me:( 2. The single folder i'm supposed to copy to the SD has two zipped files inside it. Are you saying i should extract them to the folder or to new folders within the original one? Many thanks, D

Hi, Firstly i should say that the unit is installed and working with only the two exceptions i mentioned. 1. I am trying to use the OEM skoda CD changer factory fitted to my car and wired into the iso block connector which the radio plugs into. 2. The unit uses the SD slot on the front for it's GPS software and the software that was supplied makes no differance. the unit just says GPS software not detected. It was sent via a download link on the web and came down as a file of about 1gb. I was instructed to simply copy the files to a blank SD card and insert into the appropriately labeled slot. Yes i do have gps antenna and it is installed:) I think the problem arrises because the supplied software is not in the right format/config for the unit to read. It was just sent to me and i was told to 'stick it on an SD card'.

Hey guys, i'm looking for a rear bumper from a VRS with parking sensor holes and the red reflectors in the lower portion. Prefferably in silver to fit to my L&K:) I rang the stealer and they said about £200 in primer. Best quote from breakers i have spoken to is a red one with 'surface damage' and no sensor holes for 90ish delivered to the midlands(homeSWEEThome) Any ideas suggestions? Davey:thumbup:

I drive my 2.0tdi L&K estate gently but briskly betwen stoke and lichfield regularly with no one else in the car but a full boot and i get 47/48 mpg for what thats worth:thumbup:

Hey, my 55 plate Octavia L&K plays CD-r/rw in both the single slot dash Stream player and the cd changer in the boot. Unfortunately unless your stream unit is the later 'mp3' model (usually says on the facia) it will not play mp3's. AFAIK the changer never has. Dave

I had this problem last week. Turned out to be a rear door not shut properly. Open and close all the doors firmly and try again. Dave
