had mine at the beginning of May 18 and done just under 8k so far

similar to me then so hoping mine will be close to that as I have it for 2 years on 12k a year so hoping for just one service needed thanks

just out of curiosity as the variable servicing is based on different parameters how have driven the car generally this is a service that could be anywhere from 12k to 20k ?

Hi Yes this happens on mine, it seems to be worse if it has also rained and there is some surface rust on the disc. I notice it will do this from 3 days onwards of no movement

other than that your enjoying the 245 I'm also two tyres down (1st after 12 miles of ownership) if say there is possibly more damage to suspension or drive shaft for the re-occuring noise on the near side caused by the pot hole

think you habe to be at the rear and when in sports mode you just hear the exhaust through the speakers lol

i asked Direct line this when i renewed my insurance, the answer was that if there has been more claims/thefts of the standard vRS than the 245 in comparrison to the amount of cars produced for each model this would mean the model/trim with less claims agaist it would become the cheaper option to insure, but then i dont understand the group ratings as these will never change for the life of the vehicle

hi yes it is, the only stipulation is that the tyres must be of equal parameters on each axle, size and rating, but does not mention the manufacturer, the only other thing I have to be careful is if they say it must fall in to a certain category of noise rating, its leased through leaseshop thanks

Hi everyone, I'm New so please be gentle, I have had my 245 DSG for a month now and done just shy of 2k, however after 12 miles I hit a pot hole (couldn't avoid it unless I fancied a head on collision instead) about 25mph and it blew the side wall of the Pirelli tyre, at the time and I needed a car I had a part worn put on until the Pirelli tyre was available so I could drive (I work away) 1 week later the day before I have my new Pirelli, another pot hole and a buldge in the sidewall of the other front Pirelli, so I thought I'm not paying £175 per tyre for this to happen every other week and I had another part worn put on to get me by... I'm now at the decision point, do I buy two new Pirelli's and put it down to bad luck, or do I look for another manufacturer, the part worn's need to come off as the road noise is unbearable but they got me out of trouble and I will keep as spare. Hi all, new to the group I have had my Skoda Octavia 245vRS DSG for about 1 month now, overall I'm very pleased with the car/performance, however I have had TWO tyres fail on me due to pot holes, these are not cheap tyres 19" Pirelli, looked at cheaper alternatives which are more resistant to pot holes but this is counter balanced with extra road noise, this is because the Pirelli tyre is such a soft compound to reduce road noise and the 35 aspect ratio makes them like rubber bands leaving nowhere for the air to go should it be compressed by a pot hole... Anyway back to the good bits, lovely car to drive with ample space front, rear and boot. I am still finding features on it but there also some features which I'm now aware was an added optional extra which was disappointing, as the sales man kept on saying "comes as standard, comes as standard" look forward to chatting to you all Kind regards Chris
