  1. Just had an independent garage take a look at he car and they have said it is the crank case ventilation valve so let’s see if that fixes the problem
  2. When you say it like that rayx it’s shocking
  3. The car is going back on Tuesday for more inspections but I was told by a friend (who is a mechanic his attitude is take it back and get my money back I think he’s right)who followed me yesterday that there smoke and muck coming out of the exhaust, when I pulled over there is a thick coating of oily black soot inside and outside of the exhaust
  4. Hi scoutcjb I think I am going to give it back and yes the exhaust looks like a dirty diesel cheers for the reply thanks
  5. When you say dead Engine I know you mean it’s knackered but the thing that I can’t understand is that it’s goes like stink and sounds fine drives like it should, should it still drive well or should it have given up cheers sorry rayx I should have said the 1050 miles was before the so called repair and 194 after.
  6. Just thought I would give you a heads on the progress of my lovely nice clean engine bay of my so called repaired car. Well as you can guess had it back for 4 weeks after the mechanic had repaired it (but the car dealer couldn’t tell me what was done he didn’t know ) and guess what I’ve done 194 miles and had to put 3 litres of oil in as the warning oil light came on twice and needed 1.5 litres each time so it’s got to go back again so who knows this time it’s like I’m banging my head against a brick wall but hey let’s see what happens this time.
  7. Hi giff i will let you know about my 1.8 tsi when it’s back from the garage again mate so that might give you an idea of my thoughts
  8. Silly question what is an Italian tune up sorry to ask never heard of it before
  9. Thanks offski very interesting took it back yesterday and he was a little shocked, when I mentioned it might be the rings has given me a courtesy car and reckons his mechanic will look at it Tuesday so let’s see what happens, cheers for the replies it has all been taken onboard
  10. Cheers scoutcjb I’m taking it back today and see what the trader says fingers crossed.my nephew works for Skoda main dealer and he’s says off the top,of his head like the client said earlier it’s the piston rings so I shall tell him and see what happens cheers
  11. I know from reading a lot of threads on here there seems to be a lot of other people who have the same issues as I do. But I just want to check with you all here goes I bought an 09 Octavia 1.8tsi elegance(83899 miles on the clock) in March and have had the yellow oil light come on 6 times and had to put almost a litre or oil in every time, this is now getting ridiculous I have taken it back to the car sales and he said it had an oil leak which was fixed. But it keeps happing the exhaust looks like my old bmw 320d not a petrol car it is going back to the dealer again this weekend, but I don’t think he believes it’s using this amount of oil (I have only done 1050 miles to nearly 6 litres of oil)look forward to any advice cheers baz
  12. Hi just thought I would say hello as I’ve been looking around the forum for a couple of months now since I got my 09 Octavia Tsi.
