  1. Bridged the bonnet switch and it’s not registering the bonnet being open.. next step is fuses but I can’t find diddly on where that would be on a fabia.. there’s one for an Octavia but not a fabia 😟
  2. Aye it’s not registering the bonnet being open. I’ll give it a spray with wd40 and see if it releases before I go buy another latch ☺️
  3. I will hop in and check mine just now along with checking the oil, does the ignition have to be on or the car started as well? Thank you for checking 😊
  4. Tried finding the switch online but can only find a latch, I’ve had the car 3 days and it was my own fault for not checking the dipstick yes 😒🤦 not my proudest moment I must admit! Could have happened a few months down the line but hey. I’ll have another look online at if there’s a switch and go from there.. if that fails then I’ll just do the sensor along with an oil and filter change
  5. that clears that up then
  6. pressure or level sensor bud? i did see that but i think that was for the pressure sensor? i could be wrong too
  7. I have a friend visiting for a week around about that time so we will get it sorted over an afternoon i will come back to this post and let everyone know the outcome. its my own stupid fault for not checking the dipstick upon purchasing 😞
  8. yeah its at the top of the dipstick after the extra top up. I will do an oil and filter change along with the sensor. will wait till payday and just keep an eye on it daily till then so fingers crossed 😧
  9. I checked for gunk in the cap but like an absolute weapon i didnt check the dip 🙄, the light never came on whilst the man was booting it and it drives good in every gear with a full service history.. past 2 years since his grandad owned the car he only did 8k miles with 2 services. i mean it could just be poor timing that i got the car and now the sensor is faulty. but who knows.. i got the car now so ill get it sorted
  10. Yeah the can comes up whilst driving and on start up when ignition is on, I'm glad it come on but I've sorted it and its still there lol
  11. I’ve just been reading another thread for the exact same thing that you’ve been a part of. Could the cause of this not removing the oil light be a faulty sensor? Or do I keep topping up till it goes off completely.. I have an issue now where the dipstick says it has oil but the cars not having any of it 😂
  12. Check oil message still on there. I am waiting till it’s cold now before I check it again, literally the light came on and I had put oil in it after driving it 500 yards. I’ve opened the bonnet whilst the engine is running and whilst ignition is on.
  13. Would it show on the dash if the bonnet is open?it does with the boot and every other door
  14. Damn it 😂 I’ll do that when I get back to the car or when I’m home?going to be about half an hour-1 hour just now before I’m back to the car
  15. This was after a 20 minute drive, oil temp was 92 degrees. Left for 5 minutes. I am going to do an oil and filter change on payday so I know she’s fresh, I used 5w30LL from what was used in its last service so I didn’t cross contaminate the oil 😊
