  1. This is what I'm talking about. 62 kmh, 2000 rpm and the suggestion is to change from fourth to fifth gear. 62 kmh in fifth gear? That doesn't sound right? Is this the same for everyone here? Maybe incorrect calibration or something similar?
  2. Yeah that's a shame. Beautiful interior ruined by cheap, plasticky and worst of it all - creaky door handles. My previous city car that I paid 7000 euros new, had better door handles.
  3. Mine is 1.0 tsi. Started to ignore it. Pleasant engine noise at 2200 rpm and the car tells me to change from third to fifth.
  4. In Macedonia. Yes, they were factory fitted. Didn't even ask for it.
  5. I wonder if the indicator is calibrated differently for different engines. I suppose what it is showing me would make more sense if the engine was a diesel (less rpms etc).
  6. Yeah... I felt the engine "choking" a bit whenever I did change gears when indicated.
  7. I just picked up my Karoq and I'm very happy with most of it. I have a question about the gear change indicator on the maxidot screen. It seems it suggesting a gear change waaay too early? For example: I'm driving in third gear, about 2000 rpm and the indicator is showing my gear and suggestion to change into fourth (like in the photo). This means my revs would drop well below 2000 rpm. Sometimes it shows that I should change from third to fifth gear even, with about 2500 rpm. Is this how these new cars should be driven?? What is your experience?
  8. I guess it’s my driving style. I’m in neutral and releasing the clutch just before I come to a stop, using only the brakes to stop completely. So what happens is, lets say I am about to stop, I am already in neutral, the light changes. As I am about to put it in first gear and continue, the stop system engages. I drove it yesterday and it happened maybe couple of times.
  9. Picked up my Karoq today. what I observed: + The engine. Very impressed with the 1.0 manual. Quiet and able. - The start/stop system. Hit and miss - not very consistent, at low speeds it "thinks" I am about to stop when I'm not. Overall very happy.
  10. That's not good! Have you ever complained about the creaky handle? Any solution to the problem?
  11. Nice colour but my dog would destroy it in about 12 seconds.
  12. That's an option - sports steering wheel (or something). Fancied the look and not too expensive addon. Around 80 £ if I remember correctly. Oh and I didn't buy the car in the UK. So not sure about the specs you have. What I did notice with the specs offered in the UK compared to where I got it, you do get a lot of equipment as standard whereas I had to choose a lot of your standard equipment as addons. Also, because of that, the starting price in the UK is much higher that here.
  13. Checked the glove compartment - no problems. Yeah, strange about the door handles, I was thinking, maybe because the car was left in the sun for a few days... don't know, just a guess. Anyway, what's your impression of the engine? Do you feel it lacks power in some situations? Is there good gear dynamics? Do you feel you have to change gears too often?
  14. Love the quality inside. Just one thing I noticed straight away - the door handle inside (the plastic cover) is quite creaky when I grab it to open/close the door. That's on both sides - driver and passenger. Anyone else noticed that?
