Quick question about DTUK
ninefivefour replied to ninefivefour's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
In the end I just played it safe and when for a brand new unit from DTUK, should be arriving tomorrow 👍 Looking forward to getting it fitted, and have to say the customer service so far has been fantastic; got a phone call from Andrew to talk me through how it works. Will report back how I get on later in the week! -
Quick question about DTUK

Thanks for the reply 🙂 -
Hi, Seen a DTUK CRD3+ with bluetooth control on eBay from a 2016 VRS TDI manual, anyone know if it will be suitable for my 2018 VRS TDI DSG? Pretty sure it’s the same 184bhp engine but you never know.... thanks!

Rear wiper automatic wiping.

Pretty sure there is no auto rain-sensor on the back window -
Coincidentally enough - 2 weeks ago I had a nail removed from the tire! Doesn’t explain the clock reset though....hmmm

Not overly concerned but just wondered if it had happened anyone before... Driving along yesterday when the tire pressure sensor went off, said to check pressures in all tires. At the same time the clock in the car reset to midnight (it was 1pm) Car drove as normal with no issues at all, had to manually uncheck the tick on the GPS time in settings to reset to the correct time. Car is a 2018 VRS TDi DSG Almost like the battery had been momentarily disconnected but as mentioned, no affect to the driving of the car 🤔

Had this on my Audi A1 when I got it, windscreen and side windows when it moved into the colder weather. My VRS windscreen was really bad when I got it too, especially on a cold morning with low sun, I just took it to get valeted and cleaned and had no bother since

My 2018 VRS TDi DSG had the “check coolant level” warning come on the next day following a 150 mile drive after collecting my car from the airport carpark where it was sitting for 3 weeks. Car is just over 6 months old with 8000 miles. When I looked under the bonnet the coolant level was indeed about a centimetre below the “minimum” line. I’ve never had to even top up the coolant before on any previous cars I owned so I was wondering if this is quite normal usage for this car after such a short amount of time? (I did give the car a bloody good thrashing up the motorway from Dublin to Belfast after a late flight...)

Mmm... These look pretty nice (especially as I’m a sucker for anything Akrapovic to go with my Kawasaki :D) Anybody have these fitted or purchased in the UK?

Blackvue Dashcam sd cards
ninefivefour replied to Cakemonster's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Absolute balls from Blackvue and a similar technique used by other companies when they say to use a specific type of battety brand in their product etc. Just a money making scheme from them! Obviously you can’t blame them...but no need to choose the same brand. Anything with a high write speed will be fine. I’m a photographer and have used Sandisk for 10 years plus, they are probably the most reliable brand in the world. When I had my dashcam I started with a 32gb, then switched down to an 8gb for less than a tenner on Amazon -

2018 VRS Sound Generator
ninefivefour replied to ninefivefour's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I’ve been driving myself mad trying it in different modes, flooring it at the same speed, same gear, slow, fast, trying to find a difference. My neighbours must think I’m terrible at driving... I’ll drop it round to the dealer next week if I get a chance. And if that fails I’ll post some pics of my lovely new beige hearing aids
