  1. Just had a mobile mechanic remove the ABS pump and I'm about to send it to ECU Testing. I am just wondering about the weight of the ABS pump. Any ideas?
  2. Have got in contact with my brother and he reckons that you need a 4 post ramp, transmission jack, diag computer and brake bleeding equipment to remove the ABS pump and to send it to ECU Testing. I have been looking around on Ebay and have seen some recon ABS pumps for about 100-200. I also noticed on ECU Testing that for a new pump, it will probably cost about 500
  3. Hi I've been told that the part I need has a part number of 1K0-614-117 H BEF. Finding it a bit hard to find this part online.
  4. I have got in touch with a workmate who has offered to have a look on Tuesday. He had the same issue on his Audi but managed to fix it. I have seen some recon parts on Ebay, a few online breaker yards and ECU testing. I'm not exactly mechanically savvy with cars but my mate in work has his own garage and should be able to identify the part needed for my motor.
  5. The garage I asked said it's about 980 plus VAT. When I looked on ECU Testing, they can do them for about 250-300 for a recon one. I have asked a Skoda dealer to find out the part number for the ECU on mine. I have not got access to a VCDS scanner. I'm not sure if my brother has got one or not.
  6. How do you find the part number on the ABS pump?
  7. I've had a price come through from one garage stating that it would cost about 1300 to do the pump. The garage which I'm relying on have said nothing about the price. A workmate of mine is a mechanic but he said that it would cost about 850 for a replacement or he could try to repair it. I'll have to wait till Tuesday for him to have a look at it. Have seen that you can get recon ABS pumps online though.
  8. Hello I have a Skoda Octavia II 1.6 Fsi and I've been told that the ABS pump needs replacing. When I spoke to one garage, they said that the pump and unit are separate parts but when I spoke to another garage, they said that the pump and unit are all one piece. I'm confused on which garage to believe. Which garage is right? Thanks
  9. Hello I took my car to the garage to get the alternator belt done last week. When I brought it back and took it to my dad's, he had noticed that the hose/pipe/cable had been split when the garage had taken the engine cover off. I did notice that the numbers on this part were noted as 03c103558. I've been looking through the Internet to find a replacement but been finding it hard to find one. I don't know if other parts of the same fitment could be used to replace the split part or if the replacement part has to be a like for like for the original part. Does anyone know the proper name for the part as I've seen vent hose and breather hose for the part under the engine cover? Thanks
  10. I'm taking it to the garage tomorrow morning and hopefully they can check the codes
  11. Is it possible to fix the wires or would I need to have a new alternator as well?
  12. Hello When I was driving to work on Tuesday, the engine management was flashing along and the power steering light came on. I was told afterwards that the alternator belt had gone. I have paid for a new belt and had to pay for a new tensioner pulley as well in the garage. When I picked up the car yesterday, the ABS light and the Power Steering light were still on along with a flashing engine management light. I have also noticed that the speedometer is not working and the fuel gauge is fluctuating. I did disconnect the battery to reset the ECU earlier today but the same lights are still on on the dashboard. I've also noticed that I don't have a reversing light either.
