  1. Have been using the Note 9 since it came out on my 2016 Octavia and all runs great, although have not managed to get mirror link working. Did install Car Mode from Galaxy store which got what looked like mirror link working however could not seem to find nav apps and also Spotify wasn't on the car screen either. Reinstalled once but reverted back to android auto for now as have got used to the layout / format. HTH Regards, bb
  2. I paid for the licence & install on my 16 plate Octavia, had a basic Samsung J5 that I could use Waze & Google maps on plus control my Spotify app etc. Have since got Note 9 and wifey has S9+ and cannot get either to mirror screen. Plugged my daughters iPhone 6s in and mirrored straight away - lol Still glad I got it as didn't have a nav unit to begin with and would not be without Waze and cam alerts (especially after my speed awareness course. Regards, bb
  3. UPDATE: Just drove home and still on daytime colours, but personally prefer them as mine was always on night colours due to daytime driving lamps so nice to have a change Regards, Bb
  4. I don't rember it being out of alignment when I first got the phone, so may well have been after previous upgrade. Anyways, all good now, the hardest bit was microphone (Google) button would not work in nav screen. Regards, Bb
  5. LOL - upgraded Android version overnight and now all working perfectly - Mods please delete/ lock / or leave open for information. Cannot believe I am the only one affected by this issue, but now I am running Android 9 no alignment issues what-so-ever. Regards, bb
  6. I have official Smart link installed on my 16 plate Octavia Estate and used to run Google Maps and Waze no problem with a Sammy J5. Have recently upgraded to a Note 9 and still seems to work OK but when using Waze and /or Google Maps the "buttons" no longer work or rather are out of alignment. If I use the main screen (phone icon) or Spotify everything is OK but once I go to maps nothing works properly via touchscreen. The touchscreen still works but for instance I cannot press the microphone button top right and get a response, and other buttons have to be pressed above where it is on the display. I have tried changing screen settings but no avail, guessing its something to do with (phone) screen size but would really appreciate any input people have to offer as a better phone gives worse results as its not safe to drive when the touchscreen doesn't react properly. Regards, bb
  7. Depending what year you have it would seem that its possible - but whatever new items you fit / install will have to be coded in which would require someone with the right hardware in your area to recode the new items to existing setup. Have a good read as there are links to purchase the equipment and also for the people in your area that are capable of recoding the new items to suit. Regards, bb
  8. Thanks for the input, that kind of makes more sense. Regards, bb
  9. Just wanted to check in as a new member having just found this forum, I have a 16 plate Octavia Estate 1.6 diesel DSG Auto. Had it just on a year now and so far all I've really done is to add the Android auto software from my dealer to give me sat nav on the display. Looking forward to reading up on this car and what can be done with it, had a 2009 Fabia 1.2 from new before this and just needed a bigger car really so upgraded to an Octavia. Regards, bb
  10. Can anyone please send the link for myMk3 Octavia Device Part No: 5Q0035842A Hardware H25 Software 0245 Many thanks, Regards, bb
  11. @GregSKO Can I just confirm that you have installed a OEM flappy paddle MFSW to your car and that it now works ? Was it a straight forward replacement as I was looking into the viability of getting multi functions added and saw a (buttons only) kit or a replacement wheel at not too dissimilar prices and trying to work out the best but if I can get flappy paddle into the mix even better ? Lastly was there anything else needing doing (recoding etc) or just the swap itself ? Regards, bb
