  1. Turns out my spelling is OK, just the game writer can't spell it correctly. Upto 52 and now MOTD is on.
  2. Well, that is what I thought it was but obviously my spelling is not so good. Bugger.
  3. Can anyone help with 30? Pretty please!
  4. Hi I have done a search and I couldn't find this on here. This is the guys from Saturday Night Live doing a tour of the wine factory when they get to.... cork soaking - Google Video+# It is clean but possibly not safe for work. Mark
  5. I did replace mine 2 weeks but forgot to update this post, sorry Anyway, I ordered 2 x 1K0955429A and 1 x 7E0955425 from my local VW dealer and they came to £17.35 inc. VAT. They were a special order item and they arrived 2 days later. The parts guy told me that the rear one is for a Sharon. They were fairly easy to fit (after cutting down the front ones to size) and are working very well. OP has been thanked.
  6. Thanks for that, I'm convinced. I shall discuss with my garage about changing back to fixed period servicing. For the record, I do a hell of a lot of long distance driving and never cool down the turbo after each journey. I will try to remember to do this from now on, now the horse has bolted etc. Bugger. Maybe someone else will learn from my c*ck up. Also, keep the AA recovery up to date as it is a nightmare if you have let it lapse, like I have. It would have cost me £400 to get my car home. Thanks again
  7. I had been down there for a few days but no I didn't do that when I first got there.
  8. I know how to drive but not an awful lot else about engines and cars but why is regular servicing going to help. It was serviced about 5k miles ago. I have just read that bit above again and it reads like I am being a bit arsy. It's not intentional, I am just wondering Stu. Thanks
  9. That's handy, I do like to join in whenever possible!!! Thanks for the response's, I can sleep a bit easier now.
  10. Yesterday evening my turbo on the 2.0 TDi blew (white smoke everywhere, absolutely stunk etc) when I was near Lands End, about 250 miles from home. We were recovered today to a local garage and they have checked it out and the turbo is indeed kaput. They have also said that the intercooler is full of oil and from their experience it is unlikely that they will be able to clean it. If they then start the car up the residual oil will go through the turbo and possibly damage it. Is this likely? I have been quoted for the labour, the turbo and intercooler, new oil and gaskets etc £1750:eek:. Is this about right or a bit steep? Any help gratefully received, including donations:)
  11. Today I saw a Silver Octavia vRS on the A34, to the west of Oxford. It had the lights at the bottom of the rear window and was being driven by Pat from Road Wars of old. Is it a good idea to put the reg. on here?
  12. Looks like Dave Grohl has been dressing up again.
  13. I have had the 452 and 512 on my car and I thought they were not great, particularly in the wet as mentioned above. I now have the 912's on the rear and they seem a bit better but my 512's are getting low on the front so will need changing soon. I may put 912's on the front as well unless someone has a decent alternative suggestion?
  14. I found this site about 3 months ago after my 6 year old was looking for cars pictures. He is bonkers about the film and keeps singing the bl**dy song over and over and over and..... Anyway, here is the link How to do the "cars" Photoshop - NASIOC There are some very very good ones on this site HTH Mark
  15. Just a quick update for others with this fault. After taking VRStu's advice, I mentioned that it was a known problem to Skoda CS and they agreed to do it under warranty. This never actually happened but I did only pay £50 ish fitted instead of £160 ish for the parts alone, which considering it is 25,000 miles out of warranty I was happy with. I have left feedback on the dealer page. http://briskoda.net/forums/skoda-dealers-south-south-east/ashmore-green-garage-newbury/38205/#post1325233 Thanks for the advice Stu
