  1. I'd put a complaint into Skoda and find an alternative Skoda garage, if you can or call around and ask a few other skoda garages and ask to speak to the tech see if they have heard of this fault before. If they have replaced sensors and it still keeps coming on its either a faulty wiring loom or the software on the ECU needs updating (possibly bugs in the current version).
  2. Thanks to all for your responses. I went ahead with the AA inspection. The guy who did it said it was a good car; however, after I asked him a few questions about the car, he was a bit hesitant. I don't think he did the full inspection I paid for, and most likely cut a few corners. I won't buy another inspection again. Anyway, I went ahead and bought the car. I also bought the Carista OBD diagnostic device and plugged that in a day after the car was delivered ( will use it again on my next car before buying it ) . The car came up with a load of electrical faults. After doing a bit of research, it turns out the most likely cause is that the seller replaced the battery and didn't code it to the ECU, which I have now done, along with clearing the faults. I've left it for a few days and will do another check tomorrow, hoping the faults don't show up.
  3. I have just bought a Skoda Yeti, the previous owner, by the looks of it, had a hairy dog. The car smells quite a bit, and looking at the vent holes in the boot side panels, I can see hair on the cable looms i was thinking of removing the panels and giving that area a good clean, but how easy is it to remove the side panels?
  4. Hi all, I have recently bought a 1.2 2016 plate Yeti, however, the radio time just stays on 0:00 and occasionally fluctuates to just after 6 am in the morning, then back to 0:00 again. I am thinking the head unit has gone? I am also looking to install a rear camera and if needed will replace the head unit as well, but what camera and head unit should i go for? Is it easy to install? Looking for one of those cameras that are built into the boot release rather than a camera i can fit anywhere on the vehicle!
  5. You're right, it was an independent garage
  6. The car is a Skoda Yeti 1.2 ltr petrol 2016 plate DSG gearbox. It is on 125k miles It has a service history, but the only recorded service goes to 70k miles. Dealer is saying a service has recently been done but he has no invoice as of yet for it. Brake discs and pads are new. It is a dealer sale with a 3-month warranty from the garage itself nowhere else.
  7. Which one would be best the RAC one or AA ?
  8. I am looking to buy a high mileage 2016 DGS 1.2 litre Skoda Yeti with over 100k miles on the clock The buy price is £6k, which to me is a lot of money I am thinking of paying for either an AA vehicle inspection or an RAC inspection. Will look to buy the advanced one if I go ahead. Are these vehicle inspections worth it, or should I just go ahead and buy the car?
  9. I am thinking of buying a 2016 Skoda Yeti 1.2 litre DSG; however, the mileage is around the 125k mark The service history looks ok, although the seller is saying a service has recently been done, and the cambelt and water pump have been replaced, but he has no receipts for that. Price is just under £7k What are your thoughts on the mileage? Is it too high for this engine, or do most Yetis go on for many more miles? How easy is it to remove the front and rear seats and replace them with a cloth seat? Only reason i ask is i can't stand the smell of the seats in this car. Also is it easy enough to change the cruise control speed from kph to mph ? When i went on a test drive and test cruise control, it showed kph.

  11. the car has been into Skoda a number of times. The battery and alternator have been tested and no faults found but still the warning appears. The strange thing is it’s intermittent and always appears when stopped. One days it’s ok then the next the message appears and it doesn’t matter how far of a journey I’ve gone one day I could drive 5 miles then the message appears then the next drive 200 miles before it shows up.
  12. I have a 2021 Skoda octavia Vrs and having constant problems with the below error message appearing on the dash Error 12 V Supply Stop Vehicle Safely! Consult Vehicle Wallet The message always pops up whilst idling or when stop/start has kicked in usually at traffic lights. Anyone else ever had this issue?
  13. What spare 😂. Cars don’t have spares these days
