regarding the Skoda.UK write-up. It mentions using "5th Generation Haldex" The wikipedia page for the yeti mentions our existing ones using "4th Generation Haldex" Can somene advise what is the difference? And if possible, will this improve the yeti performance off-road and in icy conditions? thanks

well it looks like the media unit in the Renault has a colour screen. It probably has a couple of "apps" in it too. If you say the word "app" to a media type, they p*ss themselves like an excited dog

Ireland. Our world is an EU mandatede metric one..... but we all yearn for the good ol' days of MPH/MPG So, on point. We find the 170 is a terrific mile muncher.

Our commute is 50kms mix of mostly motorway with 10 mins of urban driving either end. We manage in our 170ps Yeti 50+ mpg most of the time, my personal record being 56mpg (as per the display). I should mention though that our commute is a relatively slow one, I would only spend a few miles going faster than 60mph. on 70mph+ journeys it drops into the mid-40s

Used them once for a service..... never again. Poor on attitude, appaling on price.

I should mention, it has the Dual-zone climatronic air conditioning.

Where we are (in south east Ireland) we rarely have to de-mist or de-ice in the morning. Alas not so this morning. It was only today that i noticed that the force of air coming from the dash vents (next to windscreen) is very poor on the drivers side vs the passenger side. There was a noticable 2-3 times difference in the force of air coming out. We also noticed (as it was cold) that there is practically no heat coming from the drivers footwell. Whereas its plenty warm on the passenger side. I can live with the footwell heating situation as I rarely use it. However it took over 5 mins to clear condensation fully from the driver side, which is annoying. Does anyone know if this is by design or is there a problem, ie: all vents should clear the screen at the same rate. Many thanks gents.

Regarding the Vector 4Season people are mentioning...... An Irish tyre site has the below options available. Can anyone advise which is the most appropriate for the yeti? 25,000 kms in a year.... so far so good. I'd go for the re-map.... if you don't like it or it doesnt suit, you can always revert back.

The ride can indeed be a bit 'jiggly' however its not too firm. On smooth motorways they are perfectly fine.

Its much the same in Ireland. Volkswagen Ireland provide a poor choice for the Tiguan. No petrols are available here and the 170ps diesel is not available either. So I specced the closest 140ps diesel compared to the Yeti we went with and the price difference was a beefy €7000! (£5700)

I do think Skoda/ VAG have missed a beat by not releasing a lower powered 4x4 option, it ticks a lot of consumers boxes.

The manual explanation is a little vague. From initial reading it felt like there was something lost in translation. I assumed there was an additional level of security I had not enabled so I pressed the "lock" on my key fob twice just in case! But if people think its fine, I won't worry.

Hello to all on the Briskoda forums from Wicklow, Ireland. I've a loyal skoda user (family have owned 4 & I'm on my 2nd one by the age of 25) I'm here to ask a technical question regarding my fabia. Background: 2001 Skoda fabia saloon 16v 1.4l engine MPI 66,000 miles on the clock Question: From time to time the engine management ligfht appears on my dash. It goes after a few days. This has happend a few times on and off. But its happened again, at the worst possible time. The missus has her driving test tomorrow and we cant get to a dealer to get it switched off. I've topped up the engine oil but the "Service - Oil" display still shows at startup too. The worry is that though the car is fine the over-zealous driving testers will do anything not to allow the test. Is there anyone out there who knows how to disable both of these lights manualy?
