  1. @Colin170CRI need to order some too. It's the 17mm variant we need, right? Let us know how the Amazon ones are and if they fit OK.
  2. Had the fuel evap canister replaced to fix a strong smell of fuel that was coming from the offside wheel arch. Had noticed the smell for a few weeks, and after a bit of forum searching, found this was the most likely cause, not just on Skodas but other VAG cars too. My mechanic checked for other possible causes too, but agreed with the diagnosis, and it does seem to have fixed the problem. Only a cheap part and quick to fit - around £36 for the OEM part, then a simple matter of removing the wheel and peeling back the arch liner and swapping the canister for the new one. This week it's also had a major service including DSG oil service, and is now running beautifully. This is for my 2018 220 Sportline. Winter tyres on today too. On another note, recently upgraded my summer tyres to Michelin PS4Ss all round, and the difference from the factory Pirellis is absolutely night and day. What a brilliant tyre - totally changes the drive, and instant traction when you put your foot down.
  3. I wish they had an option to exclude the rear screen shades. I can't fit them as my rear dashcam gets in the way. Presumably would be a bit cheaper with just the 6 pieces, but they were a great investment nonetheless.
  4. Correct - it's standard on L&K I believe, but optional on other specs. I don't have them on my 2018 Sportline, but I bought Carshades and they're fantastic - fit and forget. I know people who have got Carshades despite also having the built-in shades, as I don't believe the built-in ones cover the full window - there are small gaps at either side that can still allow the sun to get in the eyes of the rear passengers. Car Shades don't have this issue as they fit snugly in the window frame with no gaps. I bought mine direct from Carshades.
  5. Lol - I had the same thought about the white stitching with 3 kids in the back! Will go for the black if I order them. The ability to wipe down and vacuum easily is very appealing.
  6. @UndertheRadarThey look great! Are they from Diamond Car Mats, by any chance? Are there any drawbacks with them? I was wondering how the non-slip heel pad feels in the driver's footwell when operating the pedals.
  7. They are expensive but they also hold their value for resale (worth checking ebay if you're interested). Yes there are some seats that can fit 3 across, but there's always a sacrifice in terms of space - these are super comfy for the kids, and the baby seat doesn't get in the way of the other seats. Also these go all the way through to 12 years old, so will never need to buy another child seat again. On top of that, they have a standard seat belt buckle installed (tucked away under the seat), and for short journeys, it's fine for adults to sit on the seat using the standard seat belt. The crash testing on these is also pretty remarkable. They are approved everywhere in Europe, but not in the US or Australia due to different regs (the EU regs are stricter, but different). They are also a really great small family company, so I'm very happy to support them despite the high cost (but I'd argue that if you add up all the money you'd spend on car seats for 3 kids through to age 12, this does represent good value). I also like that it blends in really well with the car - looks much tidier than 3 individual car seats.
  8. Had it valeted yesterday including engine bay. Would normally do it myself but struggling to find the time lately. Today, trip to Birmingham to get our Multimac 3 seater child seat installed in preparation for baby #3. Amazing product that allows you to get 3 kids across the middle of the car, which is normally pretty difficult due to the size of kids car seats (there's also a 4 seater version). Also on the round trip journey, I achieved 41.4 avg mpg round trip (6.82l/100km). Not bad for a thirsty 2L (220ps sportline).
  9. @g_tee sounds great! I'll give it a try. Thank you.
  10. @g_tee How did you change the throttle response? Does it also hold onto the lower gears for longer while you're accelerating, as it does in sport mode, or does it retain the gearing of Drive with the throttle response of Sport?
  11. Nothing truly beats manual mode - I agree that often it holds 3rd for a bit too long in sport; it's good for country roads, but I often wish it would change up to 4th sooner. It's a shame it doesn't use the sat nav to intelligently predict which gear it needs. I often set the cruise control in sport mode (especially on motorways/a-roads), which lets the car drop into a higher gear, but still gives the best throttle response if you need to accelerate. If I recall correctly, setting the speed limiter has a similar effect (car will go into a higher gear sooner, as it knows you're not going to need loads of acceleration).
  12. Even in sport mode on the transmission? I usually put it in sport when I'm travelling at low speeds or at a junction wanting to pull out. It's far too slow to respond to throttle input in drive for me. I did the Audi mod a long time ago, but didn't notice any difference at all. I have the 220 petrol. Sport mode is good enough for me most of the time. Also no issue in manual mode.
  13. @Eo66 Yes, I'm very happy with them. You wouldn't know they weren't fitted in the factory. They work as you would expect with the on screen display, in conjunction with the rears. They also activate automatically when they sense that you're parking forwards into a space. The sensors they use are the original factory parts, and in my case, they took a long time to be shipped over from Germany. During that time, I really struggled to get hold of Vagtec and they were very lax with their customer service, so be warned - you may need to chase them up several times. My car is metallic dragon green, and they pre-painted the sensors in the workshop before they came out. As I said, the guy who fitted them was so knowledgeable and helpful, which somewhat made up for the poor service. Vagtec's bread and butter is doing retrofits for dealers on 2nd hand cars (dealers often like to upgrade cars with options to make them more appealing for resale) , so this probably explains their poor b2c customer service, as they're not used to dealing with the public so much. Hopefully service has improved since I had them done, but I wouldn't hold your breath. One thing worth mentioning: make sure you declare them as a modification on your insurance, since they are obviously a modification to the factory spec. They were expensive, and in the event my car were written off, I'd like to know that they're covered too. My insurer, Aviva, has never charged me any extra for declaring them as a mod, which seems fairly obvious since they're a safety feature, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck - keep us posted!
  14. If it displays "eco" on the display (and I'm assuming here that you have the DSG gearbox), then it _is_ definitely coasting. You will notice it, as the rev counter will drop to idle about 2 seconds after you take your foot off the gas, and the needle will jump up again whenever you brake or accelerate as the gear is re-engaged. There's a noticeable lag in the gear re-engaging once you hit the brake or the gas. If you have the manual gearbox, then coasting isn't possible unless you manually shift to neutral, which I wouldn't generally recommend.
  15. This has happened to me also. It didn't happen for the first 10 months or so, and started happening in the summer (incidentally, I noticed it when the weather started getting warmer, but this could just be a total coincidence). I'm assuming it's a software bug or faulty sensor somewhere.
