  1. It might be worth sticking the multimeter on the supply at the pump and have someone mover the steering wheel. You'll find out quick if the voltage sag being reported is correct, might be worth taking a look at the earth's next to the power steering pump.
  2. Cold braking exceeded the OEM pads (IMHO). I've read the regs stipulate that any brake components such as pads, discs, lining that are not OE have to perform within 15% (better or worse) of the standard equipment. Unfortunately brakes which are considerably better fall foul of the regs.
  3. I ran Ferrodo DS2500 pads on OEM discs and high boiling point Dot4 for a year before doing a big disc conversion. I was happy in as much as I never cooked them with fast road driving. The larger discs did make it feel like the car pulled up harder but I guess that was primarily due to the reduced effort needed at the pedal.
  4. Got some time today to fit a set of DRL fogs I bought a while back. They're kind of redundant now what with the vastly improved headlights but decided to use them anyway😁
  5. Cheers U.P! I'll make a point of bookmarking the link to the IPC for future reference.👌😎👍
  6. The front seats will bolt in, depending on the year your MK2 is from you may find you have to swap plugs over on the seatbelt warning and heating (if installed). The rear bases will fit however there are two styles of mounting the rear uprights. You will need the one that looks like a pair of cow horns.
  7. Can anyone help with part number for the hardware that holds on the towbar cover fitted to the rear diffuser? I guess it's some sort of quick release affair? Cheers 😁
  8. Finally got the blacked grills back together, bottom was painted and the top wrapped. Never again is all I can say, I hold professional wrappers and windows tinters in the same regard as wizards and magicians. PURE FURKEN MAGIC! In other news I've have splashed out on a jet wash and a snow foam bottle. If I can keep the habit up of cleaning the car regularly I might even have a go with the DA polisher at sorting the abused paint work.
  9. Whilst the headlight was on the operating table I added some additional wiring and a plug break to support some future upgrades. I've got a set of led fogs with a DRL that needs a signal to switch on and I want to add some rally spots at some point in the future. It's starting to get busy in there!! And a waterproof plug for good measure 👍
  10. I had an intermittent problem with the high beam on the RH head light. Tested the wiring and there was nothing wrong there, the only option was to split the headlight again. Not ideal, but I want my high beam back!! Had some lunch whilst troubleshooting and it turned out to be the plug was cracked on the projector, fortunately Morimoto warranty is excellent so they shipped me another free of charge. Swapping the fibreglass adapter over to the new unit.
  11. Whilst we're all stuck at home I had time to sort out a few things that I've been meaning to do with the Fabia. First thing on the list was upgrading the road runner horn to something with a little more grunt. I've had a pair of Fiam twin tones sat in the shed for ages so bumper off and bolted these in with the supplied brackets. I need some more spade terminals before I can wire them up but I'm hopeful they are less embarrassing than the stock noise maker. I had to tweak them over so they didn't touch the bumper when it was slaved back on. I also trimmed some the ribs out of the bumper to stop a slight rub on the intercooler.
  12. I too have a sport! The fuel tank has an official capacity of 45 liters however if you open the gas vent tab when filling you can just about squeeze 50 in. Standard tyre size is 205/45/16, I run mine on 215s on 7J wheels for the (marginal) extra width and side wall. Not sure regarding the cd multichanger, mine has an aux in. Underseat drawers from any Fabia will fit. Rear diffuser is glued on. Hope that helps!
  13. I also fitted the Sharan helper springs to the handbrake mechanism just because I've had a set kicking around for ages. And the DS2500S😁
  14. Did the big service yesterday including a full refresh of the rear brakes. I had quite the shopping list of parts turn up at work much to the amusement of my colleagues! In no particular order I bought; Brembo discs New red carriers Red VRS calipers DS2500 pads Dot 4 brake fluid Not many pics as I was filthy and covered in brake grime🤣
