  1. That was the one I checked. I guess that: Dear customer, No relevant recall campaigns have been launched by ŠKODA for the entered VIN TMBBN7np9k7035428. is not as reassuring as I might have hoped. I'll get as pushy as I can with the dealer's garage when I'm back there before I go looking at throttle controllers. Cheers Paul
  2. When I ordered it it was the 1.4 but I think that my order went in just as they were doing the switch over and I think that I got the 1.5 as an automatic upgrade. The fact that I’m not sure what size engine I’ve had for 4 years would suggest that I’m not a typical buyer of throttle controllers! The Skoda website says my VIN doesn’t attach to any further recalls - but I will press the dealer when I’m getting my brakes done. I did get something done early on with one of the services (not sure if it was a recall or just an update). It made a difference to the hesitation but 4 years on, I’m struggling with it. Thanks paul
  3. Thanks all. I’m due back for disks and pads this month so I’ll ask the dealer to confirm that it’s up to dates for recalls etc and doing what the auto box does as standard. Then, assuming no improvement, I’ll get all brave and whizzy with a throttle controller. Thanks again. Paul
  4. Thanks for the comments. Its not juddering or anything, probably the best way to put it is to say that it feels like it takes a couple of seconds to work out which gear it wants to select - then by the time it decides I've had my foot down a bit so it suddenly jumps forwards. Its at about 34K miles (lots of sitting around unused through covid). Its just had a full service which I know included spark plugs because I had to wait overnight for them to get delivered to the garage. Just been on the website with my VIN and it says no outstanding recalls. Cheers Paul
  5. Hi, I have a 1.5 auto hatch back. Had it from new in 2018 and was convinced when I first got it that there was something wrong with how the gear box worked when pulling away from stationary or very slow. Even without the stop/start thing, it was always too slow to move and to compensate I'd push the accelerator harder leading to a sudden lurch forward. Only ever a second or so, but enough to mean that I can't judge what gap I might be able to pull in to. There was some sort of recall or update thing about the DSG that got done at the first service and my perception was that the hesitation problem was reduced. But now, 4 years in to ownership I'm sure its back. Does that seem familiar to anyone else? Its a big car with a small engine on an auto so maybe its normal? My other car is a Mini manual and my previous car was electric so maybe its just a perception thing? I have to pull out of my small residential street on to a busy 40mph road every day and this issue just feels constant - I can't take gaps that I take without thinking when I'm driving the Mini.
