  1. Sounds reasonable to me, but still you'd better have additional 30hp than lack them. You're correct. It is 1.8 TSI 180hp, which with the new facelift is gonna be replaced by 2.0 TSI 190 hp. The 1.4 TSI 150hp should be replaced with 1.5 TSI 150hp this September. I see you have the 1.4 TSI. How does it feel when overtaking? Do you have the neccesary power and fast acceleration ? How about if the car is fully loaded - 4 passengers and their luggage ? Due to the above I decided to go for the bigger engine, cause you never know when you gonna need those additional horses. But I really don't wanna wait until January. :/
  2. Hi guys, Nice to meet you all. I’m in the process of selecting my new car and decided that would be a new Superb Saloon. A bit of background - car will be used each day in the city for around 10km one-way to my workplace and occasionally for long weekends , which might happen every second or third weekend. The dilemma I am facing - TSI or TDI. I am not that knowledgeable , but I am afraid 10km twice a week day( so 100km a working week in total) and 400-500km on highway out of the city once every three weeks won’t be the best treatment for a diesel engine. Hence I decided to go for a TSI. Do you think that’s a good decision? In my country what they offer and what I chose is the TSI 132kW 180hp as I think the lower-powered engine TSI 150hp will be weak for a Superb. Now the problem - TSI 180hp will not be offered from next month until it is replaced by the new version 2.0 TSI 190hp, which sounds pretty good and I would definitely go for that one. However that 2.0 TSI engine will be offered only when the Superb facelift comes out, so that would mean I have to wait for spring to come. Also currently no new orders of 180hp could be made , so I can get only what's available in the store. I also have to mention the dealer has pretty nice promos right now, I don’t know how are the levels of equipment in the UK, but here you get 20% off on Business, Edition and L&K. So L&K is the highest, that's the same in the UK, next is Edition and then Business. So what options do I have currently to pick from: 1) last available Business level TSI 180hp in their store, but I wanted to go for the next level ( Edition ) and the colour is ‘bleh’ (~26,000EUR) 2) TDI 190hp automatic 4x4 (Edition level), but I have my concerns for the diesel engine (~ 28,000EUR). However it is good this one is 4x4 for almost the same price as the TSI above which lacks it. 3) TSI 272hp automatic 4x4, which is pretty good, but price is also higher . Also 272hp might be too much I believe. (~31,000EUR) 4) just wait for the new engine and the facelift , but that might mean I miss the promos right now and I doubt I will get a price close to 26,000 EUR for the 2.0 TSI Thanks guys! I will keep an eye on the thread and your suggestions.
