  1. Hi, you can fairly easily remove the chrome trim around the grill by levering it out, but expect it to break as the locking tags are designed for it to stay in place. Fitting the black trim is a piece of cake, it’s just pressed into place, the tags are designed for a one way operation, no tools are needed for fitting. It makes a lot of difference to the aesthetic of the vehicle. I bought my grill from SuperSkoda together with black “Skoda, Octavia and vRS” badges for the rear, again they look really good on a white car. I bought from SuperSkoda before Brexit so prices may no longer be competitive. Having said that, they are genuine Skoda parts in the main. Hope this helps, enjoy your vRS.
  2. I have a stage 1 tune bringing the PS up to 300 and use Continental Sport tyres on my 2015 Octavia vRS. OK in the wet but can spin the front wheels in 3 rd gear (DSG gearbox) if I am clumsy with accelerator. Can get axle tramp in the dry though especially over bumps and manhole covers. Hope to cure this with beefed up engine mounts. Love the car on the Continentals.
  3. Hope you got it for a good price? Is this your first Skoda? Hope you enjoy it.
  4. Try SuperSkoda. They are not cheap but cost less than Skoda UK. Hope you find a good used one in the meantime
  5. But my white vRS can still see him off in any sprint especially up to 100 mph. So scientifically white is supreme
  6. When they are worn go for Michelin or better Continental Tyres. Buy them through Asda Tyres, who will fit them through a local tyre dealer. Cheapest way to buy quality tyres that I know.
  7. Yes, but a white wizard will tell the truth, white is always faster. I know my white vRS certainly is.
  8. I have had my 2015 tsi vRS for a year now and still find it exciting. It copes with everything from traffic, to open country roads and motorways better than anything that preceded it, including an Audi A3 2.0 tai.
  9. The 245 is only available as a petrol engined vRS. It is the same engine in the 2019/20 Porsche Macan, which also uses the MQB chassis of the Octavia, albeit with a few Porsche tweaks.
  10. Thanks Wangarai, wasn’t sure whether I needed electric operation of the seats (I already have heated seats) but I think i’ll Save up to have the seats re-trimmed in leather, seat surgeons in York seem to do a good job and the cost will only be a little more than eBay seats plus looms. Will do this in the spring and photograph. Your comments have been extremely helpful in making up my mind which way to go. Onto the next job this weekend, tinting the rear windows (B post back)
  11. Thank you spell checker, above should read Canbus or BCM
  12. Apart from the fact that they are leather, rather than plastic, it is the main reason for wanting to change. Really wondering whether the loom caters for the power take off for the seat motors and if so are there any mods needed to the can us or bam.
  13. Hi guys and gals, my 2015 vRS has the manual pu/cloth seats and I have been offered leather electric seats, is this a plug and play option or is there more to it? Advise would be welcomed. Do we ever stop improving our Skoda’s?
  14. Has anyone replaced the seat covers on an Octavia vRS with leather ones. I have seen some at seatsurgeons that I like but they say that it would be too difficult to fit if not experienced. I can rebuild an engine, change suspension brakes and gearbox, but have never changed the seat covers. Any one with experience of this? Octavia 3 petrol vRS with 280 BHP, front splitter, mud flaps and all LED bulbs apart from Bi-Xenon Headlamps.
  15. Replaced the rear indicator bulbs, no problem. Front ones not yet replaced as I have HID bulbs and no access to indicator bulbs. Can anyone advise easiest method of getting to them?
  16. You can get these from Auto Bulbs Direct (ABD) at Southampton and have ordered 4 from them. Bought bulbs from them before including an HID conversion kit for my previous vehicle and LED headlamp bulbs for my wife’s Citigo, you get good service at a reasonable price and can return if you make a mistake. I would recommend them. Thanks for the information, feel confident in my purchase now.
  17. OK, so if I change the indicator bulbs to LED I have to have the BCM reprogrammed rather than changing the relay to one that recognises LEDs? Alternately, I suppose a ballast resistor will be needed with each bulb? Does anyone know what BCM stands for; I get the M is for Module but not the rest?
  18. You are correct, indicator bulb is tungsten so I assumed all were tungsten. This forum keeps saving me money. Many thanks
  19. I wish to replace my standard rear light clusters on an Octavia III vRS (2015) with an LED cluster from Superskoda, do I have to change the Flasher unit for an LED recognising one, does the Canbus recognise the LEDs automatically etc.? Any experience comments would be welcomed.
  20. Offered credit note from Superskoda as it appears that there was a glitch within their system. Thanks for comments as you have saved me money.
  21. Will check with Superskoda and see what they say, £10 cheaper is far better. How long did it take for yours to arrive after dispatch?
