I’ve been looking at different video that people have done with VCDS regarding light functions. After a quick search about, I don’t see anything useful. so the question is, can it be done and how do I go about having a go myself...at the moment I’ve only followed other people’s guides. how do the adaptations work? whats the do’s and dont’s? Many pointers are very much appreciated thank you fine forum folks

That’s a good idea, I’ll do that next time... I noticed that if there’s a drop down menu and you use the up/down keys to scroll through the bytes on long code helper it changes the selection. Thats what caught me out this time. i did go through and do a map of the adaptations before I started playing so the original code should be there. thank you

That’s a terrible title After messing with VCDS and having a poke around I managed to remove the picture of a car on the CAR section of the radio. managed to get a hatch back on now but it’s not the Vrs. its annoying me every time I see it now, anyone know how to get it back? thanks in advance

I don’t have those option so maybe there no longer an option as langer2k said... it may no longer be an option

Ok thank you....suppose I’d best wait and just check it out myself. i assumes that the channel map was the be all and end all and everything that the car did was on these maps... im here to be schooled mate...thanks for the lesson And thank you for your help

Everyone’s at work when I’m able to do it and have my son through most days. just making the odd changes to my car now I have the software..just expected to see it as an option

Brakes are all fine now. ive not physically checked my brake lights to see if they flash but it would show in long coding or the channel map on VCDS wouldn’t it?

It’s would show as a selection in the though wouldn’t it?? also, looked through the control map and there’s no blinken in the brake channels

I recently bought VCDS due to a brake light issue. im very new so please type slowly. im trying to activate emergency flashing brake lights and signal lights activated in emergency braking situations. ive been on central electric (09) long cosing helper byte 16..... nothing relating to it, just aux heater something or other does that mean I can’t do it or I have to to go around it a different way? mk3 Octavia vRS my15

So... today is a good day. thank you for all your help but it’s. Ow sorted...unfortunately is got it in my head that the light isn’t on instead of why is that light on! The bloke who fitted the tow bar has taken a feed from the blue white white strip (lower incandescent FOG light) and for no reason shorted the white with blue strip (LED brake light) in one of those awful connector blokes I’ve removed and repaired the LED brake light wire. It only cost me the price of VCDS which I wanted an excuse to buy So how to program the 5 light braking???

is this the right thing? A map of the adaptations for 09 central electrics i was also looking to add emergency blinkers but its not in the long coding options, thought it was standard for 2015 vrs adpmap-09-5Q0-937-084-AJ_TMBBK7NE7F0057434.CSV

Well I did manage to set the light on with the fog light but then managed to stop all my rear lights from working at which point I changed everything back... is there a channel list or is it a case of try it and see

I’ve had a tow bar fitted that slaves off the cluster wiring. wonder if there’s a problem either with the wiring or the relay. also, I’m new as new. If I wanted to program lighting...how do I know which lights are which? Channels etc

So, a friend notice my brake light was out on LHS, appology if this has has already been covered shown on the pics below....as an amature on VCDS I’m scared to make any adjustments to adaptation etc without guidance. the bottom incandescent light which comes on with fogs on right cluster but not left...I had ago on VCDS and managed to turn it on as a fog light but still doesn’t light up when braking as shown below. i tried changing Liechte function 26nsl....B26 and it work for dogs but then tried to do it as BRAKE LIGHT and adjusted the dimmer to 100 and no brakes worked at all......S#%t myself and undid every thing I’d done. so the lamp works but isn’t programmed as a brake light whereas the other side is??? Any help greatly apreciated

So....My HEX-V2 come today... how would I get to test the output via the software? there maybe a coding error/issue somewhere or a damaged cable. can I just set the brake lights on via VCDS then get out and have a look?

Apology for late thanks. Is is this something I can look at with an enthusiasts cable from Ross-tech..very tempted to buy one to check it out myself aswel as a few changes

What’s that mean? Computers maybe decided not to light it up? is there a plug that supply’s loom somewhere? loose connection?

good evening I have a mk3 Octavia tdi Vrs on 2015 plate. The LH brake light bulb isn't working and doesn't seem to have any power to it with the brake peddle pressed. I fitted new lamps and even swapped over with the RH cluster aswell as plugging the RH cluster into the LH side but the problem still persists on the LH side. whilst checking these out, the RH cluster brought a fault up on the dash where as there isn't a peep from the LH side Is there a separate fuse? were is the main plug that supplies the rear lights? isn't there meant to be a warning on the dash board? any help gratefully received

Just introducing myself, new to Sokdas and forums. live in Barnsley and drive a blue Octavia Vrs hatch. anyone sees me round Barnsley, give me a honk...I might look at you abit funny though anyway, I’m looking to be schooled and I recon I’m in the right place
