I still haven't solved the problem, but further inspection and discussion with my dad who was an mechanic for 40 years suggests that it could be a faulty rear parking sensor and that after testing them that it could be the full set that need replacing.

I'll give it a go Delta925 Nd again let you know how i get on.

Tried what said and put the key in ignition, turned key to ignition without starting engine and engaged reverse. Covered each sensor individually and no noise from any of them?

Just to elaborate further on the matter of the rear parking sensor issue the vehicle is a mk2 skoda fabia 2 1.9tdi 57 plate, that has had a few extras added tp it from the factory when origanally purchased. It has done 93,000 miles. As for the audible beep it actually beeps once very breifly when reverse is selected and then there is a second longer beep. As far as i know the second beep usually means there is a fault with the rear parking sensor. I only purchased the car recently and the issue has just started. Could this just be a sensor or the more costly module that is defective? Any light shed would be useful.

Hi, i was wondering if someone could shed some light on an issue I'm having with the rear parking sensors on my partners mk2 fabia. When i select reverse we get an audible beep, but then they don't appear to work when reversing.
