  1. Hi, I have a 2011 Skoda Yeti 140 4x4. Very lovely it is too. Just had a full service and new glow plugs, new battery which I thought would solve a starting problem we have but no luck. It always starts whatever the weather and temperature but if we do numerous stop start shopping trips around town where we might drive to several stores and park for 30 minutes or so we have problems starting the car. It starts and then cuts out. Takes four-six attempts before it catches. Mileage is 125k and has always been very well cared for and serviced regularly. A mate with an Audi Q5 of same age and mileage has had injector issues and thought it might be the same problem. Any thoughts or similar experience would be most welcome.

Thanks for this answer. I have the servicing done at an independent garage and so they probably aren't looking at the bigger issues just the oil, filters etc. I think I need to go to the main Skoda dealer and have a chat with them. It's a big ticket item.

Hi there. I am the very happy owner of a Yeti DSG 140 diesel. Almost the top of the range here in France when new in November 2011. It has now done 142,000km and all trouble free. I get it serviced every year and frankly it is a joy to own. But I am concerned that there may be some major engine work needed in the near future. Can anyone advise what may be necessary such as a timing chain renewal or major overhaul?
