  1. Do you happen to know the name/type of grease used?
  2. After reading through a few other forum posts it appears to be a common issue. But repairs mentioned work for some but not all. Also interesting to hear some had it fixed under warranty. Where as I got shut down pretty quick on that by the dealer, although mine is approved used. I’d certainly be pretty annoyed if I had spent £750 on suspension arms only for the creaking to continue. Dealerships must think we have an endless supply of money to throw at these things.
  3. Thanks for the help, interesting about it possibly being something else other than the suspension arms. Will also try the grease trick. I’ve got the the car booked into a local garage Who I happen to know personally. So will get an honest answer from them and no doubt a much lower repair bill.
  4. Hello, Just been to Skoda to investigate a creaking noise I hear when going over bumps. Turns out the front lower suspension arm bushes are worn and they have quoted me £750 😱. Not sure if this is just for the bushes or the entire arm as someone has mentioned to me that sometimes you have to order the complete arm on both sides. Has anyone else had this issue, also had to fork out £750? Sadly not covered under the approved used warranty as it's deemed wear and tear. I am beginning to wonder what is actually covered. But after paying £11k for a car only a year a go from Skoda, it is a little infuriating that I may need to spend an additional £750. I'll be getting quotes elsewhere I think.
  5. Thanks for confirming, I’m glad to know it’s not just me.
  6. Hello, I noticed whilst I was cleaning the footwell today that there is an untidy and poorly finished or maybe broken bracket with some gunk on it. Its hard to spot unless your wiping your foot pedals as I was and happen to look up as you couldn't see it unless your eye level with it. Is this how it is meant to be? I thought perhaps I might be missing a cover? Or it is just poor manufacturing. Thanks,
  7. Thanks seems simple enough to do, I’ll give it a go and hopefully avoid a trip to the garage.
  8. Hi all, The door issue has seemed to have gotten worse after some use. Approved used pffttt! . When closing it doesn’t shut properly and after locking, I can pull on it slightly. It does stay locked but still it is not right and I am not happy. I do have it booked into Skoda and hoping it can be fixed under the approved used warranty. But since it’s pretty much day off work for me to drop car off, pick up etc. I wondered if I can avoid having to take it in and fix it myself if it’s an easy fix, perhaps something to tighten? Or even take it a local garage if I don't have the right tools. Here is a video showing the issue. Thanks. 44172705.mp4
  9. This is one of the one's I have but it has LED lights on it, so hoping it doesn't continuously draw power when the car is not being used. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Q2GFP4M/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. Thanks, the link I put up isn't the exact one I have, it was just to show the shape . The one I have is more powerful so will leave it in and see what happens and hopefully not drain the car battery.
  11. Thanks good to know. I may just do this to avoid attempting to replace the whole thing.
  12. Hi all, I am wondering if anyone has replaced their cigarette lighter with a USB socket and if it's a simple thing to do? Or as an alternative, is it OK to leave a USB charger permanently in there? Something like this https://www.halfords.com/technology/mobile-phone-accessories/universal-charging/halfords-usb-car-charger-socket-1-amp-black. The one I have sits pretty much flush and looks nice. So I would happily leave it in there providing it doesn't drain the battery. I have noticed if a passenger connects their phone via the existing USB port just to charge it. I cannot have my phone connected via Bluetooth to play music because it gets overridden. However they could use the cigarette lighter port instead. Thanks,
  13. Thanks I will take a look, I did notice if I push on the door slightly whilst closing it, it does end up being less of a gap. Good to know about the wind noise.
  14. Hi all, I have noticed the driver side rear door sits slightly proud of the body. I came across this thread for a mk2 but wondered if anyone has had any experience with the mk3? The car is going into Skoda garage for a different reason so I might ask nicely if they could also align the door for me. Otherwise I may have to look at it myself. Thanks.
  15. Yeah that is true, I’m still finding my way around the car. So in time I am sure I will get used to it. Thanks!
