  1. Hello again, yet again I need more help. So yesterday after changing my oil I noticed an oil leak. Now originally I thought I messed something up, sump plug or oil filter not seated correctly. Unfortunately/Fortunately not. Now I crawled under and noticed that it seems to be coming off of a Torx headed bolt mount with a gasket/rubber mount that seems to be going into the sump on the drivers side. I was tempted to see if I could nip it up but thought I might make it worse (cross threaded) or perhaps remove with oil spewing over the inlaws drive way. It has recently had a camp belt and water pump replaced and also a new crank seal replacement by the previous owner. I’ve included some pictures (best I could get) any help with be appreciated as always.

  3. Haha yeah I meant fixed, I certainly hope there isn’t a fox. Ok so I’ve one more question, now 505.01 is a specific pd oil? Therefore it doesn’t necessarily have to state pd on the can of just needs to state 505.01 to be the correct oil is that correct?
  4. Also you mentioned 5w/40 is that for foxes service? If I was to use 5w/30 for interval services is that right? And if if I was to use 5w/30 and change every 12months/10,000 is that better?
  5. Thanks guys I’ll look into it now and get the 505.01 5w/40w This is what I was going to get https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Octavia_1.9_2010/p/car-parts/engine-parts/engine-parts1/engine-oils/?521771981&1&37668197e15bc7ebccd5464354f7f9315222a554&000398
  6. Thanks, I’m just wondering as the 507 is newer is it not a better choice? I’m just really confused about it.
  7. I know this is covered but for the life of me I can’t find a new thread. As I’ve just bought an octavia, I am am going to replace the oil has I’m not sure what’s currently in it. Now what oil do I use? 505.01 or 507?? 5w/40 or 5w/30 Euros has a sale on at the moment so want to take advantage. Also so new to the whole Skoda thing and so far I’m really enjoying it.
  8. Hello, I’m new so please excuse me I’m advance. Today I test drove a 2011 Octavia, towards the end of a 15min drive the glow plug started to flash, once I turned the ignition of and back on it disappeared. Is this something I need to be concerned about? The car has a full Skoda service history, new engine fitted 65k ago. Any help would be appreciated.
