  1. Is the the right tool for my vrs https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/tools/car-service-tools/brake-service-tools/brake-system-tools/?553773570&0&t5_390
  2. Just left work and within a couple of mins all three lights came on and stayed on. Got to my destination, turned the car off turned it back on and now (without going anywhere) just the Abs light is on. I will check the battery when I get home.
  3. @KenONeill fans we're only on low but stayed on as did the radio but thanks for the info.
  4. I was sat in a traffic jam yesterday when on popped the Low Tire Pressure, ABS & Traction Control lights, they stayed on for about 20-30 seconds then went off, this happened twice then didn't happen again for the rest of the journey (about 40 mins) and haven't come on this morning. I've read that this is something related to ABS sensor and may require new sensor or hub? Is there anyone in the Stoke-on-Trent area with the kit to read the error code so i could possibly get a more specific diagnosis (not sure it it could be narrowed to to an exact corner?) Car is '57 VRS Diesel
  5. Obviously I mean oil cooler (its not a good day)
  6. I've got oil in my coolant, only discovered when the coolant warning light came on last week. Engine wasn't over heating and the engine oil doesn't look milky but the garage is saying they have tested and there is no compressing in the crank case. I've described the symptoms to my bosses friend who owns a used car garage and he is question the garages assessment says it sounds more like the oil filter. Anyone offer any advice?
  7. Think it's bit more serious than the sensor now (see my second post).
  8. Turns out that in the cold light of day its not the bottom of the coolant bottle I could see but the reflection of the top and the coolant isn't clear but black. Fingers crossed its the oil cooler and not the head gasket.
  9. Got in the car to go home from work this evening and no more than 2 minutes up the road the car started beeping and the red water temp warning light flashing. The temp needle hadn't moved at this point, stopped the car, engine off and started back up. No warning all the way home (about 10 mins) temp seemed to go up to about 75 pretty quick though although I don't confess to knowing actually how quick it's should get up to temp it usually seems to take longer. Anyway I got home lifted the bonnet half expecting to see an empty reservoir but as far as I can tell in the dark its well above min level but it looks crystal clear which doesn't seem right. Anyone advise?
  10. Thanks, I did spot that one and thought it might be OK. I'll give it a punt for a few quid.
  11. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a replacement locking wheel nut key. There seem like a few options on Ebay so a code would be very useful.
  12. Hello folks. Pick up a Mk2 Octavia TDi PD vRS on Saturday, stumbled across the forum while looking for some info on hardwiring in a dash cam. Found a very useful post, hopefully find some more as I read more. Jamie
