  1. My question really is if the vRS Saloon/Hatch (no idea) is the same as the estate exhaust?
  2. Hi all. Hoping to gain from your fountain of knowledge... My standard exhaust on my vRS has gone, and it would seem nobody can get an aftermarket standard one for me. Main dealer wants £800 plus VAT and labour! Screw that! Which basically leaves me with stainless steel. Seeing many options online/ebay etc, but my question is the exhaust the same for the estate? Nobody anywhere is specifying compatible with estate, so hoping someone can help? Cheers!
  3. I've had a company car, Merc E class AMG estate, sitting on factory AMG 20s with runflats. It was horrible to drive on local roads, real teeth smasher! So I guess 18s feel comfortable to me. In terms of handling etc, I'm no Nigel Mansell (showing my age here haha) and past my days of pushing a car to its limits. So really just a balance between aesthetics and comfort for me. After sports bikes and supercars nothing feels fast anyway lol.
  4. Thanks for the additional info champions! Muchly appreciated. With the car sitting on 18s as standard and being so used to them, I couldn't go down to 17s. I did consider moving to 19s but decided against it because of weight and ride issues.
  5. Perfect... Thanks for the reassurance. Last thing I want to do is drop £750 sheets on a set of wheels that don't fit!
  6. Hi everyone. I've been struggling to get a definitive answer to this question, so thought I'd try the knowledgeable chaps and chapettes on here... I have a 2009 mk2 Octavia vRS and I'm wondering if these wheels will be an easy straight swap with the standard rims? As it says in the ad, they're from a Mk7 Golf GTD. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
  7. Cheers for the reply! I've been looking for months. I can get 18s with the correct centre bore easily enough, but with manufacturers only tending to start putting 19s on later models, the hubs are 66.something mm as opposed to the 57.1 of the octy. My car is currently sitting on 16" steel wheels with Halfords wheel trims and looks like a fecking taxi 🤣🤣 I have my original vrS wheels there but they're an utter mess in need of a refurb and 4 new tyres. So I basically thought I could get a wee upgrade to 19s for 5-600 quid from gumtree rather than forking out around fhe same for 4 x refurb and new boots for the original 18s.
  8. Hi peeps. Looking to put a set of 19s on to my 2010 vrS. Most of the ones I'm seeing for sale on gumtree (all genuine manufacturers wheels, no aftermarket) are from newer cars, and whether VAG/BMW/Merc etc they all have the same PCD which is great, but bigger centre bores... Not so great! My question is... Is it possible to get the exact size of adapter for a secure snug fit (bore sizes are very specific to 1/10th mm) and even then, are they considered safe to use? I'm no engineer, but I'm guessing they're ok in so far as the centre bore is simply to keep the wheel concentric to the hub, with the wheel bolts being resposible for handling the forces generated? Am I right? Or am I right? Or am I talking utter peesh? TIA!
