  1. Short update - so made my return journey home this afternoon and the regen completed within 15 minutes of the start of my journey
  2. Hmmhhh - pioneer - that worries me Anyway probably heading home tomorrow so 65 mile journey down the M4. Might pop into the Skoda garage in Swindon on my way past if error still showing - hopefully not.
  3. Yes I was surprised to see the message too. Havent been doing many miles recently with lockdown, no commute etc and any journeys were long enough to ensure engine is fully warmed up. However the last 3 weeks have been staying with my mother as father taken into hospital. Each evening driven ~0.5km to my sisters for tea - my mother cant walk that far. So 3 weeks of daily short journeys seems to have caused the problem :( Just wondered if anyone had any advice or experience
  4. Hi - looking for advice on error message "Particulate filter regeneration required. Consult owner's manual" This error came up on my dash earlier this week - I have 272 estate, 2 years old and done just under 17K. Any advice on how long a journey is needed for regen to complete? I have been looking after my parents for 3 weeks so journeys have mainly been very short - basically just a few 100m as they cannot walk. I spoke to Skoda service department and they suggested a 30 minute drive which I have done but fault remains. Should I just drive for longer or is there a better method. Thanks in advance ...
  5. Probably true but that is the RRP not the actual buying price which is typically 20%+ lower after discounts etc. Final price makes it quite a bargain for what you actually get. I say bargain in inverted brackets as buying new is probably never the best option when buying a car.
  6. I made the same mistake when specifying my Superb L&K Est 272 last year - kept the total price below the ยฃ40K limit only to find I could have safely gone well over. I can't remember the reason immediately but something like the 40K limit doesn't include VAT. I think it was captured on the 280 thread. Didnt make much difference in the end as I when I placed the order the factory was shut down for the summer for refit so I ending up ordering one on the already built list.
  7. Yes I have been considering joining the remap club and maybe a trip down the M4 & M25 to visit AmD - be a nice day out. Searching more locally I did find Avon Tuning who seem to get positive reviews. Might go and visit as I work in Aztec West
  8. Thanks. My knees will prevent me getting too carried away and apres Piste is a distant memory ๐ŸŽฟ๐Ÿป
  9. Excellent thanks for giving me peace of mind. Driving to France in 2 weeks to go skiing so now i can enjoy the journey ๐Ÿ˜€ also looking forward to driving it in the snow ๐Ÿ˜Thanks again.
  10. Hi - looking for advice again I bought my new Superb L&K estate 4x4 272 back in May last year and reached 10K miles in Dec at which point it indicated it was due for an oil service. Duly serviced by my local Skoda dealer in Swindon end of December. In general everything seems fine but since the service I have noticed a cloud of smoke from the exhaust when accelerating hard - typically when over taking I dont recall noticing such smoke before the service but maybe didn't notice. Is this anything to worry about? Like I say in general everything is fine and the car drives like a dream but just wondering whether I should be seeing smoke when accelerating hard ๐Ÿ˜ž Thanks in advance for any advice, Mike
  11. I had the same problem last week - rear right tyre has slow puncture for several months. Losing 2-3 psi every 2 weeks so the tyre pressure warning came on - quick inflate using my bike pump as needed. Didnt worry too much until of course last Thursday the tyre had gone completely flat ๐Ÿ˜ž No spare of course and everyone recommends to avoid the puncture repair kit unless its a last resort. Called some local mobile units but no joy. Then remembered Skoda Assist - called them who call the AA. Hour later chap arrived, took of the wheel and found the cause - an embedded screw right in the centre of the tyre. He did a temp repair which got me to kwik fit who did a permanent repair for ยฃ25 - job done. Anyway sorry for the long winded reply - just wanted to share Puncture repairs are perfectly acceptable depending on the nature and location of the damage. In future I will not leave slow punctures till it develops into something more serious + I need to look at getting a spare wheel. Presumably my local Skoda dealer can advise! Strange thing happened after the tyre was re-fitted - when I left Kwik Fit the TCS kept activating - warning light came on and loss of power. Had to pull over a few hundred yards (sorry metres) down the road. Switch of the ignition and restarted and the problem went away - not sure what happened but it has been fine since - anyone else experienced anything similar??
  12. Just to update on a previous thread . .. I will be picking up my new Skoda Superb 272 L&K from Rainworth Skoda next Tuesday Train ride to Mansfield where they will pick me up and take me to the dealership and my awaiting new purchase. Looking forward to the drive home hopefully following some of the advice from the "running in TSI engines" thread! The dealership has confirmed they were able to add the extended 2 year factory warranty for ยฃ630 so it does seem to be possible for non-factory orders if done before the car is registered which happened yesterday. Hope this info is useful for others as there were differing opinions. I still think the extended warranty is good value especially as it can be transferred if i do decide to sell within 5 years. Now I must start to research pedal boxes Cheers all
  13. Thanks Boydee I'm starting to feel more relaxed about it now. It would seem it is not likely to be an issue. Car should ship from Germany next week so i should get a collection date hopefully still in May. Cheers!
  14. Thanks Martin and good advice. I will ask for it in writing so it is documented.
  15. OK an update on my own post ... just spoken with the dealer and they are saying it is definitely possible to add the extended factory warranty as I am still in the ordering process. They have done this before so it seems I can relax ... possibly.
