  1. I know that Haynes don't do a workshop manual for the Roomster, but I've found the Easy Manuals site and they do offer one. Problem is, I've looked through their site at other manuals and can't find any reviews as to how good/bad they are. Does anyone have any experience of them please?
  2. Has anyone found ramps suitable for allowing me to get my disability scooter into my recently purchased Roomster please?
  3. Different car I know, but when I had my Vauxhall Carlton estate, I had very much the same job done and I nearly had to remortgage to pay for it ! Checked with my local mechanic who does my Fabia and he reckons that you've got a good deal.
  4. Both of my Fabias have done this and I reckon it's fuel pump priming too. I find it quite reassuring to know that the little fellas that work under the bonnet are getting ready to go to work before I've even got in the car Well my excuse is that I'm old and suffering from age related childhood regression - or perhaps I've downed more of the single malt than I thought I had!
  5. Many years ago, when the Fabia first came onto the market, my wife and I attended a launch party. This boot locking feature was described to us as a safety feature for ladies loading shopping into the boot in say a supermarket car park. Apparently, some ladies had been attacked in their own car when an intruder had entered and hid behind the driver's seat whilst the lady was loading shopping into the boot. the idea was that the car doors would lock automatically in order to prevent access to ne're-do-wells. Now whether it was true that this was a safety device or an excuse from Skoda to mask a fault, I really couldn't say. What I can tell you is that if, or instance, I bring the car round to the house and my wife wants to load shopping bags into the boot, the boot can't be opened unless the driver first opens his/her door first. (Another safety feature - or just another quirk??)
  6. The only experience I have had with these cards have been on some of the trail cameras we use for wildlife filming. We would get a couple of shots on a card and the next time the camera operated, we got the message 'corrupt file' on the screen. I tried a number of times to clear the problem by reformatting in the camera but the reliability issue was always a problem - they finished up in the bin!
  7. Many thanks Wino. I've sent you a PM. Delighted to accept your offer.
  8. Does anyone have any knowledge of where I can purchase the top plate for the Fabia engine cover? I have found the complete engine cover/filter box on E Bay but it's just the silver top plate that has somehow come detached and dropped down the front od the engine - between engine and fan housing and bits of it have melted. How it managed to do this I know not but done it - it has. Any help for a very ancient Fabia owner would be very much appreciated JackL
