  1. Hi all, thanks for the advice. Seems like its got to be DMF then. The car is just run in at 218K. So hopefully the new one will last as long. Is there any make that is better than the rest? Thanks
  2. Apparently some of the modern diesels have hollow journals Jaguar/Land Rover spring to mind ( they snap regularly). The garage that I took it to advised against fitting a single mass flywheel as the duel mass one takes up some of the torque
  3. Hi, I have a 2010 1.9Tdi superb estate. The duel mass flywheel is knackered,so I need to replace it. The engine number starts BXE. Does anyone know if it has a hollow crank or solid, as I would like to convert to a single mass flywheel. Thanks
  4. Hi, yes the battery is fine. You put your foot on the clutch, turn the key and engine does not turnover. TCS fault is displayed on the dash THANKS
  5. Hi, I have a 2010 1.9Tdi Octavia. It normally runs great, but this morning I jump in to go too work and turn the key. NOTHING, dash lights up but engine does not turn over. there is TCS fault on the dash. The engine management, and the car with the squiggly lines are on. I've tried clearing the fault codes but did not help. Funny thing is my reader will not read the engine codes now. The only thing I can think of is, we had heavy rain through the night and may be water has affected the electrics. Any help would be much appreciated. THANKS Alastair
