  1. I'm not sure if you can get replacement sills but if yours is like mine was I couldn't justify a panel for the amount I was putting in. Shifting all that factory rubber stonechip was a messy mission, clouds of burnt rubber! Still, it was OK once done. A lot less rusty than an E46 coupe... 😕
  2. Bump. Still got it and want it sold this year, I'm out of garage space, although you can inspect it in a my garage if you want, but I've got other projects to be getting on with. 🙂

  5. Price drop to £1,800 without a spare set of wheels, £1,900 with. Here's pictures of the engine bay and interior. The drivers seat is beginning to get thin but there's no holes there yet. Carpet OK. Handbrake, shifter and wheel pretty good, they haven't been ripped to bits by another wearing rings. What dirty marks will come out of the fabric, being such a light colour it takes some keeping on top of! Sony stereo with a faceoff plate. Engine bay stock really, usual broken plastics around the battery tray, that's common. Anything else I've missed out or you want to see, please ask.
  6. I've got to take more pics of the interior but yeah they're pretty good and better than most it seems.
  7. Reduced to £2,000. That sound that sound about right? I'd like it sold ideally before the winter.
  8. MOT'd as of last week and yesterday I replaced the N/S front window winder mechanism so that's working again. Anyone who wants to give it a good looking over can do it in my garage rather than you struggling in the rain, dark and dirt! Will it need the odd bit of paint, jobs doing here and there? Sure and if it doesn't sell I'll end up doing them myself but anyone interested in buying it has points to haggle with. :) Rich
  9. Ta! Yeah, it's a pretty decent one and I was planning on keeping it until the very end until my head got turned by another BMW! MOT booked for Friday and ideally I want it gone this side of Xmas. (I'll update the post once MOT'd)
  10. For Sale My Skoda Fabia Mk1 VRS Mine for 7 years I think now, the guy I had it off had it for 8 I think. (I still have his original advert from when I bought it actually). I used it as a daily driver for many years before replacing it with another TD 1.9 Turbo car, my Audi. It has been reliable, nippy and cheap to run. I took it off the road in 2022 to get some of the jobs done, hoping the Audi would see me through until I got all the Skoda jobs done, but as I now have 5 cars and space for 3 I have to get one of them sold and that’s the Fabia. Over the past 12 months I’ve welded all the corrosion on the sills, primered, stone chipped and then sprayed. I've replaced the torq screws here and there on the inner wing liners. I'll be waxoyl-ling the sill cavities next week. Resprayed the bonnet in solid gloss black and front and back bumper in 2K base and lacquer, same as the sills. Interior is standard and better than most with seats unripped. Suspension has new Eibach Pro lowered springs 25mm, new at the front and rears have been on about 6,000 which came out the same kit for all 4 corners. Bilstein rear dampers have also seen 6,000 miles. The front has Bilstein B8 Sprint Shocks which I’ve repainted as they were getting a bit scruffy. New Meyle upper bearing cups and Meyle mounts on the front dampers. I replaced the front drop links about 3 years back. New vented brake upgrade kit discs, with TT calipers and new pads. Repainted and powder coated callipers. New disc backplates and bolts all round. A new FEBI front hoses on the one side and new FEBI steering rack rubbers. New FAI trackrod ends, new front wishbones with ball joints (I think both FAI), new MEYLE HD Cupra Cup type, console bushings. New rear caliper handbrake springs. Battery is a recent Exide 77ah one with a 5 year guarantee that I’ve had, 2 years? Tyres are legal but nothing great, wheels could do with a refurb and the car does come with another set of wheels which I was going to get powder coated and swapped over. Paintwork is good-OK, there’s a scratch on the drivers door that was there when I bought the car and is/was on my to-do list. I’ve polished the rest of the panels, a few minor dings but nothing nasty. There’s stone chips of the tops of the wings that could do with being done at some point. Exhaust is fine, had regular oil changes with Castrol Magnatec, the car had a remap and comes with the SHARK box to send to the ECU or revert to stock tune. With this is idles a bit uneven but never in the many years on the road was it an issue. What needs doing? I’ve replaced the one window winder mechanism and there’s still the passenger one to be done. I had the steering rack replaced 5-6 years ago but as it’s leaking it will want another one. As I’ve replaced both trackrod ends, it will want re-tracking too. A couple of tyres go flat after a few weeks as they want re-furbing (which I previously mentioned). Some broken plastics in the engine bay around the battery tray, cosmetic stuff really. Is it mint? No, but it’s better than most, been cared for, never stolen or crashed unlike a lot of Fabia VRS’s and it hasn’t been thrashed in the last 15 years. Pretty much stock looking just a little lower. All the replaced parts are quality as I was planning on keeping the car and I don’t have to sell it but space is more the problem. Years worth of receipts. I’ve kept everything and the previous owner kept most! Here's a link to the pictures in a Flickr album > https://www.flickr.com/photos/24990899@N05/albums/72177720311551122 Currently SORN’d, I’m aiming to get it MOT’d in the next week. Updated with 2nd Price drop to £1,800 without the spare set of wheels, £1,900 with. Sound about right? No swaps as I've got enough cars, ta! West Midlands just off the M5, Junction 3.
  11. Yeah, I'll do that I think. Thanks for the input. 👍
  12. OK, Ta Breezy_Pete, I'll get joined up then! By the way, is there a valuations thread on here anywhere so I know how to price it?
  13. Hi, I'm going to sell my Fabia VRS I'm a member but not a Freedom member, will the Freedom Lite be all I need? Thanks in advance! Rich
  14. Glad it inspired you! Black Magic is a pearl, isn't it? If you didn't fancy the base & lacquer I'm sure a bodyshop would do that for you, I'd still imagine it would be pretty forgiving though, especially as you're that far down the car. If you can use a 2K primer, all the better, just take all the precautions you can when using 2K stuff. If you're asthmatic, we'd rather you didn't use it at all! Mine wasn't as bad as I thought it some areas, worse in others so you never know until you start digging. Whichever way you go it's better to nip rust in the bud. Genuine Skoda spares for sale if anyone wants 'em! 😛
