My 65 Plate 1.6tdi did this. Had a blown front left shock which was paritally to blame but even after replacing, it still made some noises as you describe but again mostly over speed bumps. Sold the car just before loads needed doing to it (asked the dealer i sold it to how much stuff needed doing and totaled about £1500) so never got to the bottom of what was causing it. If i remember correctly, there was an issue with the gearbox mounts loosening over time and causing noises over rough roads. Also from what i read over time the rapid just starts making noise, and creak and scapes just start to happen. Maybe just have a look at all you undertray fittings to make sure they're all still there as those also go missing over time.

Just a thought, Osram have just launched (not on sale yet here in the UK?) the first road legal (i.e. E marked) H7 LED retrofit kit https://www.osram.com/ecat/NIGHT BREAKER H7-LED-LED lamps (street-legal)-Car lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_3401765/ Price will be high and its only confirmed with the octavia currently but will surely be tested further. Any issues at the M.O.T centre, just show them the paperwork and they cant argue. They're road legal H7 bulbs that just happen to be LED. even tho Just wished these were around when i had my Rapid Spaceback as the headlights on those were actually ****. I tried a lot the major players over a couple of years in that car just as a curiosity, and the nightbreaker lasers were the best in terms of light output.

Rustynuts, Thank you very much for the reply. I presumed they were effectivly the same unit just part no. differneces. I have ordered a unit with the code and also have finally ordered a VCDS ive been meaning to buy for a while, as both me and my mother own skodas and it makes sense. If coding is required, is VCDS capable of this or does it require VAG-CAN? Cheers is advance.

May have been cover before but please point me in the right direction. Long story short, my mother has accidentally broken the screen on her beloro head unit in her 2012 yeti 170 4x4. Need to replace with the same as she was happy with the unit and doesnt want to deal with more complicated head unit (she thinks its rude to answer the phone while driving, each to their own) My main question is if i buy a similar unit out of a octavia or yeti with the correct radio code, will it be a direct swap. i.e. maxi dot working and parking sensors showing both front and rear? Also, is there any difference between the ocativa and yeti bolero head units as i believe they are both Delphi units? Cheers is advance.

Have realised the stock reverse bulbs on my MY2017 superb L&K are crap and need to replace with something brighter. I am aware people use the Phillips PY21W (https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-x-tremeultinon-led-gen2-py21w-twin) for indicators with no canbus issues but was wondering if anyone had used the P21W (https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-x-tremeultinon-led-gen2-p21w-6000k-twin) for the reverse ones with same ease of install. Has anyone tried the white ones as well as the amber ones and do they throw up canbus errors. Was used to LED reverse lights in my rapid spaceback as that had no canbus i could use anything but would like to avoid errors and get this correct first time. Cheers in advance

Even if it was even a small touch at 3mph, if the radar has been damaged other things may not be exact and if it is done professionally by either SKODA or a repair specialist, youll also have the pieve of mind and a warranty on the work. Especially on a safety sensitive part like the radar.

I would think that it would need calibration as said above. Surely if he's backed into your car with his, it should be claimed on his insurance and would therefore be done professionally for free anyway?

Can't comment on transfer but I have always payed with paypal and havent had any issues the 4 times ive ordered. You also can claim back if you have issues if you use paypal although im aware not everyone has a paypal account. It says on their site if youre paying by card to use paypal. Last order placed about 4 weeks ago took maybe 6-7 days to arrive. There is a link on the top of their homepage 'How to buy/pay thaty has some info. Hop this helps a bit.

Recently purchased a MY2017 Superb L&K from here (under the lookers brand). James was very helpful and although follow up on updates of getting the car ready was a little slow car was ready on time and as expected. Would probaly buy again from here if required. Much better than Station Garage in Horsham who were terrible. Cant comment on service department as probaly wont use them unless for warranty as I use our company mechanic. Only bad point is they dont always pick up the phone when you ring even if you hold the line for a decent amount of time. Pretty minor complaint tbh

Sorry if this has been asked before but i have a few questions about coding using VCDS I have recently purchased a new (to me) Superb III L&K. Overall very happy but it was missing a couple of options. I wish to add traffic sign recognition and auto high beams as well as disable the stop start by default. If I were to purchase a VCDS unit as i have planned (mother has an out of warranty Yeti also so worth having a unit for diagnostics so my mother doesnt get shafted on repairs), would i be able to add these features via coding as i belive i have all the required cameras as it has ACC and auto lights and wipers? Also is this process difficult for a novice? Im perfectly computer literate and a bit of a tech head so not scared of trying it, Cheers in advance for any help.

Evening Guys & Girls, I have just placed a deposit on a MY2017 Superb L&K 2.0tdi 150 DSG Hatch to replace my Rapid Spaceback. It has served me well but its time for something a little more refined. Was wondering if you guys and girls had any advice and things to look out for / keep an eye on besides obvious maintenance and any helpful advice to get the most out of the car as this is far more technologically advanced than my old one. Also this is the first Automatic / DSG car i have owned and ever driven so any advice for getting the best out of the gearbox and any quirks these units have would be appreciated. I did select the 2 year approved used warranty as there are many more things to break on this one so hopefully (touch wood) all will be ok. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mines a 65 reg SE Tech 1.6tdi CR Spaceback.

Have a rapid spaceback 1.6tdi se tech and the battery is under the bonnet. I do have a full sized spare so that may be the reason.
