  1. Have just switched to a 2.0 TDi DSG 4x4 Edition. Ex demo but had the extra features I was looking for. Fuel consumption seems to be marginally better than the 46mpg I was getting for my 1.5 petrol despite being a 4x4 DSG. Really pleased to be driving a Karoq with no irritating niggles at last.
  2. Well, after a year of waiting for my 18 plate Karoq 1.5 to have the kangarooing (irritating rather than undrivable) and 2nd gear flat spot (couple of dodgy moments pulling away in 2nd) sorted, I eventually gave up and upgraded to a 2.0L TDI DSG 4x4 Edition. I would have considered switching to the 1.5 petrol 4x4, but the risk of getting another kangaroo combined with the limited availabilty (Skoda stopped producing it after less than 12 months!) convinced me to go back to a diesel. During the 12 months I found Skoda UK as helpful as could be expected in the circumstances once they recocgnised that there was a problem. They continued to keep in contact with me on a regular basis even there wasn't really any change in the situation. Disappointed with the treatment I received from my local dealership in Milton Keynes where I never really had any faith in them from the day they tried to convince me that the kangarooing was a characteristic of the car. They also weren’t really that interested when I identified a couple of warranty issues. Just seemed to be hard work dealing with them.
  3. I was thinking of trading in my 2018 1.5tsi Karoq SE manual for a new Scout or Edition 4x4 DSG. These weren’t available in 2018, but when I enquired at a dealership they advised me that the 1.5 petrol 4x4 was being discontinued from September 2019. Anyone have any idea why and whether there is a problem with the 1.5 petrol 4x4? My existing car has a mild case of kangarooing but not enough to stop me liking the car. Would I be better / safer looking at a diesel option?
  4. I bought a Karoq 1.5 petrol in June this year. At the time it was the only 1.5 petrol on Skoda dealer network of approx 3 month old demo vehicles being sold (mine had 1000 miles on the clock). All the others were 1.0 petrol or 2.0 diesels (possibly the odd 1.6 diesel). I noticed the 1st gear issue and put it down as irritating rather a serious problem. It is only an issue when cold engine when I crawl off the drive and down the cul-de-sac. You would describe as a very mild form of kangaroo hopping. By the time I am pulling out onto the main road a quarter of a mile later it is not an issue (probably because I am now driving at 30mph rather than the 10mph when I start off. If I encounter any queues on the way to work (25 miles) and I am in 1st gear it is not noticeable. This is my experience for what it is worth. I will be raising this with the dealer in Yeovil in case it becomes more serious in the future but it it does not stop me driving the car at the moment. And for anyone interested it has currently clocked just over 6000miles at at average of 44.8 mpg ( nb: it’s my car and I don’t drive it as hard as the Volvo V60 diesel I previously had as a company car)
