  1. For some reason, VW maps show as one version newer on my car. This one is allegedly ECE AS 2020/2021. I’m assuming Skoda is using 0-based indexing while VW is using 1-based when encoding the version.
  2. It’s my view that isofix on rear passenger seats forces kids’ seats to use too much space as they are further from doors than they could be. My wife (174cm, 73kg) was pretty uncomfortable even for shortest of journeys between the two seats (Cybex Pallas Fix and Peg Pereggo Primo Viaggio SL) until I disconnected both from isofix and secured only with seatbelt (both seats allow for that).
  3. In Croatia, I only had an option of acoustic front side windows but not rear ones as in Ireland. This all sounds crazy to me.
  4. Amundsen (Discover Media) updates started rolling out on VW site: https://webspecial.volkswagen.de/vwinfotainment/int/en/index/downloads/maps-download#/ (select Golf/Passat 2017 - Discover Media).
  5. Ok, so my hunch was correct one. Q2 2019 update has not happend yet (at least for Amundsen). Will keep on checking. Thanks!
  6. Yes, for rear one it is. I had mine shoot a bit short so only about a half of window was cleaned. I adjusted it and it's better now although I need to perform a bit fine-tuning.
  7. Based on this comment from another thread, in December of 2018, the file name was STD2_1115_EU1_201920 which is the same "1115" as it is today.
  8. The one that can be downloaded from Skoda update site right now is STD2_1115_EUA1_201920.zip. This is allegedly May 2019 update. On the other hand, VW file from October 2018 is DiscoverMedia2_EU_AS_1115_V10.7z. The whole reason I started this discussion is due to "1115" being the same in both of these. Somehow I feel that the real update has not arrived yet (at least to Amundsen) at neither Skoda nor VW.
  9. This looks nothing like what I see for Amundsen so I guess it’s for Columbus? Since you know your way around Skoda/VW maps, could you check last two Amudsen versions?
  10. The thing is that with ECE they named Nov 2018 version as 2019/2020 and it's still called the same. The only number that I can attribute to the version would be 1115 which is the same as VW file I downloaded a couple of months ago (Nov 2018 on Skoda didn't have ECE A1 2019/2020 version). Where can I locate metainfo file to check more details of the version? P.S. My car is MY19 with Amundsen.
  11. I've seen it on https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com as a notification box under section to enter VIN: I'm aware that map update process is slow (that's why people like Google Maps much more) and maps are old the day the hit the public. For me the best feature of Skoda maps is that I have a next action in front of me without having to look to the right at the infotainment.
  12. I wasn’t implying that they are cheating. I was just confused as the site still tells me “Last update was Nov 2018. Next is Q2 2019.” and VW files from 2018 already have 2019/2020. I thought that they maybe just reshuffled the old things for whatever reason.
  13. My 110kW TDI with 7 speed DSG definitely doesn’t stick in a gear too long in normal driving mode when driving gently. The first one is used just to move you from standing. On others it upshifts around 2000 +/- 50 RPM. I’m in 3rd gear at 30 kmph already.
  14. Are you sure it’s new? It’s still saying to me that the last update was in Nov 2018. Map names are 2019/2020 but so they were in the last update (said Nov 2018). VW site still doesn’t have an update (last one is Oct 1, 2018).
  15. Add front seat backrest protection if you have 4-5 yr olds as they can easily reach them with dirty shoes.
  16. I’ve used this https://www.sonax.com/Product-Search/(location)/51542-SONAX-Car-A-C-cleaner-Ocean-fresh multiple times over last 10 years and worked great.
  17. Does anyone know why are they pairing "old" 1.4 TSI with electric motor instead of now standard 1.5 TSI?
  18. Debadging on BMW (via zero-cost option) is for the model, not BMW branding. I don’t think they’ll offer to remove Škoda branding.
  19. Hahahahaha... Didn't notice it at first... Škoda designers thinking that Škoda brand carries the same weight as Volvo one. Especially with Š which is funny even to me whose language has Š in its alphabet (Croatian).
  20. I don’t have an L&K. I have a Business trim (I don’t think you have it in Ireland) and driver’s seat has electric contols but passenger seat does not but it does have manual adjustment of backrest angle.
  21. When I was ordering my MY19 last autumn, I was told that if I order DSG, Lane Assist and ACC that I would automatically get Traffic Jam Assist and, at least in Croatia, there was no special item in configuration that needed to be selected.
  22. For Traffic Jam Assist, you need ACC, Lane Assist and automatic transmission (DSG). You might be lacking DSG part. But, to be honest, I don't see how and why would Adaptive Lane Guidance depend on DSG on anything except Lane Assist.
  23. Does it maybe show up once you activate Lane Assist? On the photo you sent Lane Assist is deactivated.
  24. I’ll list only cons as I’m generally very happy with the car overall: - I like adaptive lane guidance on highway but not in the city and having to click, click, scroll, click on inforainment to (de)activate it while driving is not a thing I enjoy. - I’d expect a bit more room for the wife between two car seats in the rear. - Less fingerprint-catching material on center console.
