VRS trashed at Grimsby Dock

If it had been pranged hard enough to set the airbags off wouldnt the list of parts listed above include headlamps, bonnet wings etc ? -
VRS TDI estate vs BMW 320d touring
jbconno replied to olibluegoat's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I may be able to opt out of the company car scheme with my new job next year and quite fancy a 320 or a VRS. I will be doing a similar annual mileage. -

What sort of annual mileage are you doing and what is the cost per month for both cars ? -
There's a lot of black going on inside.

I like them, I take delivery of my new Mazda 6 Sport company car next week and thats also got 19's. I would be concerned about kerbs and potholes if it were my own car though. -

It may just be the colour but that looks far too bland for my liking. -
Not looking too good in those pics, it looks much better in the publicity ones.

Will you be able to drive it that length of time without stopping to refuel due to its tiny tank ? ;-)

Has anyone got interior pics yet ?

Official Mk3 VRS Pics and spec
jbconno replied to Dr Zoidberg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Now then Skoda ! That more like it. Gives the dreary looking MK3 a much needed shot in the arm !! Lets hope that Skoda UK don't balls it up by making daft spec decisions, like no MFSW on manual cars and standard bluetooth. -
Octavia 3 top in What Car group test
jbconno replied to Brimma's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Just read that article, I have recently ordered my next company car and gone for a new Mazda 6 Sport Tourer. -
I had a 318 with cruise on a seperate stalk and didnt like it. Found myself flashing people by pulling the indicator stalk instead of pulling on the cruise stalk. My mk2 vrs was easy to use and I prefered it. My current Mazda 6 has the controls on the wheel and its no problem, you can operate them without taking your hands off the wheel.

Who is going to be first to order?

I guess I could have had a 320d ED but the model I wanted was the "Modern" spec as I wanted the Turbine style alloy wheels that are only available on that model. I know what you mean with the options strategy, it can be frustrating from a customers point of view that you cannot get certain option combinations but it I found there was too many options listed on the BMW website. -

I have just gone down the path of choosing my next company car and the A4 was on the list but unless you get the S Line spec they are very dull. However the S Lines work out very expensive. In the end it came down to a BMW 318D Touring and the new Mazda 6 Sport Tourer. It was VERY close but I went for another 6, the Beemer is beautifully built and engineered but not very well equiped. To get all the toys the 6 has you would need to spend about 40 K on the BM !! -

The Elegance spec cars arent meant to be sporty anyway. If you want sporty wait for the VRS. I must admit I am not a fan of the new Octy. Its not that its a bad looker, its just not very interesting or exciting to look at however the estate looks much better than the hatch in my view. -
I used to think the same until I actually tried using cruise for most of the time. I do a Manchester to Kent run a couple of times a month and I have been using mine for pretty much all of the journey. It took a while to get the hang of how to use it to properly but I found that looking faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ahead and waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy behind is the key. Anticipation is everything. Sometimes it is too busy to use it though.
-
Cannot say I am overly excited about it. Its not that its a bad looking car, just not very interesting or exciting. Maybe seeing one in the flesh may be better.

Skoda UK marketing have a habit of making odd desicions. The Aussie MK2 VRS came with heated seats as standard yet in the UK where we have the need for heated seats much more than Australia they are an option. And dont get me started on the MFSW and Bluetooth on only UK DSG VRS and not the manual ! Lets hope common sense prevails for the MK3.

My Mazda 6 is up for renewal in Sept and if the VRS estate gets launched in time to make onto my list then it may be a contender. The new 6 is the front runner so far though.
-
Are you sure that its not just the reflection of the ceiling lighting strips ?
-
Hopefully they will allow you to have a MFSW on a manual VRS.

Is the update coded to the car or can you burn the DVD and give it to other members who need the update ?
