  1. Hi. Does anyone know if the Superb still has the option for auto dimming wing mirrors? I have a pre facelift SEL which has them (you got them as part of the front electric memory seats option) and I think they used to be standard on the L&K. I am thinking about replacing my Superb with another and I really like this option for night driving. There doesn't seem to be any mention of it in the brochure now either part of the memory seats or standard on the L&K. Is it just fitted now or has the option been done away with?
  2. I wish it was as easy as ticking a box in the vehicle menu. Sadly Skoda/VAG do not want you turning them off for some reason. Some good info here. Looks like there is a way to get rid of the pesky cornering lights on newer Superb which is great. I just need to find someone with a compatible VCDS cable near me (central Scotland) who would be willing to help.
  3. Digging this one back up. Not sure if I have missed it in the VCDS thread but has anyone established if turning the cornering fogs off is possible on a MY19 Superb. I am keen to get rid of the feature totally both for cornering and also stop both coming on when reversing. They look awful next to the xenons and are basically useless.
  4. Digging up this old threat I posted. I managed to get regular nylon/plastic bolts to fit by cutting them down as the holes on the rear of the car are fairly shallow. However these have work themselves loose a couple of times, not sure if it is due to them being cut down or not. Anyway I wondered if anyone could shed any light on the correct screws/bolts for the rear plates. Are they specific ones I need to source from Skoda or are they just a custom length etc? Thanks.
  5. I was wondering if anyone has disabled the cornering fogs on a MY19 yet and could confirm it works/how to do it?
  6. Hi. Just got my car and I will be fitting my private plates fairly soon. The car came with stick on plates from the dealer so once I rip those off can anyone tell me what screw holes are under there. I’m assuming at the back there will be proper holes for bolts to go in. What about at the front. A lot of cars take self tappers at the front but I know some also have proper fixing holes. Is that the case on the superb. Also can anyone help me out with the size of screw/bolt needed? Are they M8’s? Thanks.
  7. You are likely looking at about 6 weeks at Emden. That’s about how long my Superb sat there. It was only just shipped over yesterday. I did hear from Skoda that they are getting on top of the delays now but not sure I am 100% convinced about that.
  8. Curious to know how you get on. I am still waiting for my Superb 1.5 to be delivered (been at Emden for 6 weeks now). Its a DSG, curious if the fix is applicable to DSG cars as well. Know they were far less impacted by the issues on the 1.5. If so will be asking my dealer to do the upgrade before I take delivery, if the car ever gets shipped that is.
  9. I have a post over on the superb part of the forum. My Superb has been at Emden for over 5 weeks now. I was told the same about Brexit and also bad weather. There are a number of ships coming over this week which I’m hoping it’s on. Even if it is I expect another delay when it gets to Sheerness. Once it finally gets to the dealer I’m guessing it’s going to be around 8 weeks for shipping alone. I think these are the times you are looking at at the moment if waiting for a car just now.
  10. I spoke to Skoda again today and was again told there is a massive backlog of cars. The dealer dropped me an email earlier as well apologising for the delay but also mentioned a backlog. It seems they have too many cars to ship and not enough ships to bring them over. How long have you been waiting for yours to ship?
  11. I just spoke with live chat again and the story now is that the bad weather earlier in the week combined with a huge backlog at Emden caused by trying to get as many cars out before Brexit is the cause of the delay. I asked so what’s the longest the car could sit there and they were unable to give a time. I’m getting more suspicious as it seems to be a different story each time. Does anyone know how much info the live chat folk really have?
  12. I’ll admit I haven’t read all the threads about the kangarooing but is this not more in relation to manual cars. Mine is a DSG.
  13. I’m not sure the other cars the dealer has been waiting on have been delayed as much as mine. Sorry I should have clarified that. What they said is other cars they had expected by now hadn’t arrived either but I believe the delay on mine is by far the most substantial. I did get the impression from the dealer he was getting as annoyed as I was with the delay (likely due to customers like me chasing him) but have done their best to keep me informed. In reality it could be an issue at their end like was suggested above win payment etc. I am just really starting to suspect there is something wrong as the length of delay is really lengthy now for my car to be sitting at Emden.
  14. I had actually thought that there could have been damage but my dealer seems to have a couple of cars delayed like this. My car is set to be shipped to sheerness and I have noticed there seem to be less ships go there than the other ports like Grimsby etc. Looking around this and other VAG forms the delay at Emden I have seems to be at the very extreme end of things.
  15. Its Skoda CS on the live chat telling me this. The dealer has actually be fairly helpful. He is actually in the same situation as me and has a few cars he thought he would have by now which haven't turned up. Car is an 1.5 DSG SEL with some options added.
