  1. Finally found a few minutes to do some shopping around and got it down to just under £260 from £650 starting quote, without changing insurer! ;-)
  2. Mine's around the same time - sounds like I should be able to get under the £400 without too much trouble, good to know.
  3. That sounds a fair bit better than mine for the vRS. I'm 57 (with 3 points) and just added my vRS to the last couple of months of an existing LV policy but I think they told me it was going to be around £500 at renewal so I'd be interested to know who you are with if you're happy to share? One thing I will say I was impressed with at LV was that they didn't bat an eyelid when I told them I wanted to put on a tuning box - next to no questions asked but will add £50 to annual premium.
  4. Yes, that's what I thought originally but the lights were correctly set from when I collected the car and the satnav was still playing up. However, I have spent some more time playing with it this evening though and switching the lights back and forth a few times and now it is all working correctly! BUT, I don't know how or why it is fixed because I tried setting the lights for driving on the right and the satnav wasn't affected - ie, it still operated correctly for driving on the left. It's very odd but at least it is operating properly for now.
  5. Yes, of course. Thanks for that but I don't have an issue with the lights. My original post/question is not about how or when to adjust the lights it is about the fact that my SatNav is showing directions on screen with graphics illustrating that I am somehow driving on the right - showing that I need to negotiate roundabouts in an anti-clockwise direction, for example.
  6. You're right, the choices are 'L-hand traffic' or 'R-hand traffic' and if I switch it to Right hand traffic the in dash display flashes up the message 'Headlight adjustment for driving on the right active'. All seems pretty clear but is this setting intended to only adjust the headlights or should it also be adjusting my satnav? If it is the latter, it doesn't seem to be working.
  7. Ha! Why didn't I think of that? I'll have a ride into Kent and see if that helps!
  8. Yep, I've done the same in my Kodiaq with virtually identical satnav working exactly as you describe.....
  9. I'm in the UK and the lights are set for driving on the left. I'm not aware of any other settings, particularly for the satnav, to specify which side of the road you are driving on - are you?
  10. Thanks for the feedback. I already checked the settings for left/hand right hand drive and it is correctly set. I do think the SatNav detects and automatically sets this too (it does on my Kodiaq) but I collected the car in Dorset and, since driving home, it hasn't been outside of Essex so there's definitely something not quite right.
  11. Hi I picked up my new vRS last week and all good after first 500 miles. One slight issue so far though.... The satnav (standard spec) seems confused about which country I'm in and thinks I'm driving on the right. For example: showing first exit at a roundabout as the third exit and looking like I should go round the roundabout in an anti-clockwise direction; and, shows the black & red vehicles on no overtaking sign the wrong way round. Lights are set for driving on the left as they should be and actual directions from SatNav seem OK. Anybody else experienced this or know if there is a setting somewhere to put it right? Thanks in advance. Tony
  12. Hi I know there are lots of posts about re-mapping services and I have read a lot of them which has been useful. I haven't seen mention though of JFA or J F Automotive in Kent. They're reasonably local to me but as I haven't seen anything reported, I'm wondering if they are a good bet. is what they said on price.... Our stage 1 engine tune, DSG and dyno package is £710.00 Inc Vat Anybody have any experience of them? Thanks in advance. Tony
  13. Has anybody found a neat way to install wireless phone charging? I've had it in a Kodiaq for last couple of years and found it really handy - already missing it in the vRS just three days in. Loving the car otherwise ;-)
