  1. I have a Karoq with 1.5TSI petrol engine. Have had 3 different recommendations for oil: Dealer 1 = 0W - 20, Dealer 2 + 5W - 30, SKODA via their Chat line = 5W - 40!! Which is correct please? (no, not Duckhams 20-50, those were the days!)
  2. It's all to do with the frequencies hearing aids are tuned to - they do not cover the full spectrum of normal hearing and tend to amplify things like paper rustling, wind noise etc. . Don't tell me I should buy some hideously expensive ones, I am just looking for a simple solution to a simple matter. (Perhaps you are unhappy with the unfavourable comparison of Skoda with Citroen?!) By the way, as a motorcyclist I had concerns with non-cancelling indicators and built a simple beeper which I wired to the lamps themselves. I made the system for a friend of mine who found it a life saver having earlier forgotten to cancel a left turn signal and got (understandably) pranged by a car pulling out in front of him. Simple to make, simple to fit on a bike with highly accessible wiring. And, yes, for those who have pointed out that there are dash turn warning lights and lights on the door mirrors, I do keep an eye on them - I am not blind as well as (slightly) deaf!
  3. Good answer, but hearing aids do not discriminate between sounds! BTW I do have hearing aids, but they amplify everything, including those sounds you don't want to hear!
  4. As my hearing is a bit dodgy, I appreciated the trafficator sound on my previous car (Grand Picasso) which increased in volume the longer the trafficator was working. I find the sound on my Karoq on the quiet side, does anyone know if it is possible to increase it or fir some sort of aftermarket/homemade device to make it louder? As a matter of interest, where is the "ticker" located? is it easy to access? All help gratefully received!
  5. John_S gave a great explanation, although I still struggled with releasing the glovebox and Progress Skoda couldn't even do it! However, I have persisted and taken some photos which might help. They show where the stops are that stop the glovebox from opening too far and the slow drop bar/arm which has to be disengaged from the right hand side of the glovebox to let it fall further (this is the bit that Progress couldn't do). I have put some explanation on the photos. Just one other thing, the piggyback fuse connector you need is standard size, not mini. Hope this helps.
  6. I am planning to piggy back the dashcam to the rear screen heater fuse, when I can actually get at the fusebox hidden behind the glovebox - even the Skoda dealer finds it difficult. See other posts as some, brighter than me, have done it.
  7. On my Karoq the cigarette lighter is permanently on - not switched with ignition!
  8. Hi John, thanks for the tip. I still don't seem to have cracked it, I must be thick! Have just taken a pic of it skoda support rod and with any luck I have attached the file. I can see on the bottom of the rod what looks like a "gripping" point, do you mean that I push on that at right angles to the rod itself towards the front of the car? I guess I am perhaps to frightened of pushing at something in the wrong direction and breaking it. (If this isn't the right way to do it, could you perhaps explain which way the rod has to gon in relation to its position on the photo eg up/to the right etc.?) Sorry to be a pain in the butt! Tony
  9. Hi John, great tutorial, but as you say, getting to the fusebox is tough - so tough that I have not yet succeeded! I am really stuck on releasing the drop down "bar". When you say push it towards the engine, do you mean push along the length of the bar/rod towards its pivot point? Sorry to be dumb! Hope you can help me. Tony
