Hi All, I have recently had a second flywheel (third time lucky??) fitted to my 2019 plate Octavia Scout, 2.0 TDI DSG (150) with 25,000 miles . The symptoms are a really loud 'rotational sound' as though something has come really loose when driving along (Only ever happens when engine up to temperature and randomly) and then it fades away to a low, difficult to hear uneven rotational noise. On both occasions the dealership has been able to hear the uneven noise and after further inspections have put it down to freeplay on the flywheel and replaced that part. I am now concerned as they can't seem to find the cause of the problem and are just replacing the part under warranty for a quick fix, I have questioned what could be causing the component to fail but I have been told that this third flywheel I am now on is a different part number so should be good? My worry is that something is causing this issue that isn't being addressed and is likely to cause me problems for the time I own the car, particularly once out of warranty. Anyone had any similar experience with flywheel issues to support their theory that it is the component that is at fault? I am not very mechanically minded but I presume it could be a multitude of problems causing this. I am seriously considering my options to try and reject the car? To help me out, does anyone know if my car would have the wet clutch DSG or dry? It is a 7 speed system on the 2.0 tdi 4x4 dsg engine, manufactured March 2019. Cheers.
