  1. Start with an independent detailer (with a good recommendation or two) to a correct the paint and apply a decent ceramic. After that comes your fun with selecting the tools for your maintenance programme. Look on the Briskoda Styling and Car Care Forum and select your weapons of choice for the war on grime. Amazing how complicated people can make the selection of the right drying towel.
  2. It depends on the franchisee in your area, but I had an excellent Chipsaway guy. Not for just the small jobs but panel work as well. A lot of the big dealerships around me BMW/Honda/Mercedes used to sub their bodywork out to him. Shame he sold the franchise the new guy is nowhere near as good.
  3. Anyone got a suggestion for cleaning various stains on the black alcantara in my Superb Mk 3?
  4. Just updated my Columbus to ECE2020 using a USB stick 28.1 Gb unzipped and about an hour to upload
  5. And I went for a Rhino liner. https://rhinoukbootlinersltd.co.uk/skoda---extendable-two-part-boot-liner-5451-p.asp Delighted with fit and quality
  6. Buffing, polishing, clay bar and an application of Max Protect Ceramic Coating courtesy of Unique Valeting in West London Black Magic, classy and glassy........ well for a while.
  7. Thin , double sided sticky tape, wrapped around a thin flexible steel rule. First time! Thanks chaps
  8. Annual residents permit in what used to be a tax disc holder, ring sticks to windscreen , permit held in place by magnetic cover. Clip holder ( i use) for car park tickets
  9. Was putting my new residents parking permit in one of those "magnetic" holders. Permit drops out, down into black margin to windscreen / behind dash / windscreen air vent area. Can just see a corner in the VIN no clear zone. Seems IMPOSSIBLE to get to out. Tried paperclip and any number of thin semi rigid fishing tools. Tried blowing it out with demist, sucking it out with vacuum cleaner. Zippo, any thoughts or doomed to eternity in the void.
  10. Having used the gps world database for years on a TomTom, I used the CSV db via Skoda Connect route to upload to MY17 with Columbus, which is quite straightforward (if somewhat archaic) What I do miss, however is being able to customise the alerts to the various "safety dangers" we encounter. Ping just doesn't cut it
  11. Trailer assist is just a straight downward view from the rear view camera, so that you can line up tow and hitch
  12. Well if there is moisture within the car, I suggest you run the aircon (with a good warm temp throughout the car) and WITHOUT the recirculation. Should help draw out any residual moisture, and get it out
  13. Do you run the car with air con off and internal air recirculation on ? (rather than fresh air in)
