  1. sorry could one of the mods please move this to the mk3 forum, Thanks
  2. As per the title, I was driving along today and after about 25 minutes had the temp gauge shoot up to the red and the warning about overheating display. I turned up the heater to check the temp and it was blowing hot and as I did so the temp gauge started to fall back to the 90 degree mark. I pulled over and checked the coolant level and the oil as well for signs of coolant contamination, but everything was normal, also no leaks were visible from under the car. Restarted the car and within 2 minutes same again the temp gauge headed towards the red, this time I switched the heater fan on full and the temp dropped back to 90 degrees. I turned the fan down after a couple of minutes and everything was ok for the rest of the journey, which was just over 2 hours of mainly motorway at 70 mph, with 20 minutes towards the end of stop start traffic. Is there a known fault that would cause this, on searching I've seen a problem with Octavias but cant find anything with the superb. Its a 2016 2.0 td 150 L&K. Thanks in advance
  3. A couple of questions firstly as per the title has anyone retro fitted the heated steering wheel wheel to a MY16, if so do they have a guide and a list of part numbers that are required? I had this on my previous car and on cold mornings it’s something that I miss. Obviously it will require a heated wheel, which ones are compatible, and would it require a different slip ring? Plus are there any other parts required? I know that it will require coding, and works when the heated seats are switched on, I’ve seen pics of heated seats appearing on the display when they are activated, but this doesn’t happen on mine. Does anyone have a suggestion as to why this doesn’t show? thanks in advance.
  4. If anyone knows which parts to obtain, apart from the obvious heated steering wheel can they let us have the list please. I’ve just moved from a Kia Optima with heated wheel and it’s one of the few items that I’m missing.
  5. Loving this superb, I was tempted away from ŠKODA by a Kia Optima 4 & the 7 year warranty, but despite the Kia being a great car I just couldn’t quite get comfortable in it. So now back with a Superb L&K and it’s fantastic. Only thing I’m missing from the optima is the heated steering wheel so maybe at some stage will look at retro fitting one if that’s possible.
  6. Just purchased a 16 plate L&K 150 superb hatch. I did have a kia optima 4 which was fully loaded pretty much equivalent spec to the L&K, but I just couldn't get comfortable in it. I previously had a MkII greenline which the misses has now. Glad to be back in the superb though.
  7. Thanks George, so will the 7 speed dry clutch be in the MY 2017/18? Also does the 40,000 mile oil change apply to the 7 speed? is the 7 speed dry clutch more reliable or are there common recurring faults? sorry for all the questions but before I spend my money I want as much information so as to make an informed decision. thanks
  8. Thats the main reason I’m looking at going to dsg with ACC I’ve heard it’s a lot easier experience especially in traffic jams. My concern is later once any warranty has run out and the reliability
  9. Which type of clutch would be on the MY 17/18? sorry not that knowledgeable on this.
  10. I’m looking at buying a L&K MY 2017/18. This will be my 3rd Superb having owned the two previous incarnations. Firstly a mk1 1.9 tdi elegance and currently a mk2 1.6 greenline elegance. Both of these have been a manual gearbox. The mk1 did just over 200k miles before I px’ed it against the mk2. The mk2 is currently on 160k. Neither of these had problems with the gearbox. The mk3 I’m looking at has DSG, is there any major problems with the dsg box on these? I will be keeping it for the next 7 years, by which time it will have 160-170k miles. The majority of mileage, approximately 85% I cover is motorway mileage. Interested to hear peoples thoughts on whether I should go for the dsg gearbox or look elsewhere for a manual. Thanks Jon
