  1. Yes but for MY18 there is new sw as well. Each model has already new sw. See the picture below. First column is Ecu version. Second original sw version(s). Last column is for new version number. So they should know how each model behaves and how to fix it.
  2. @kifir Maybe that's because the karoqs are the most affected models with this "characteristics". So they created service campaign. But they will not do anything special just update with the latest sw. The important thing is that for each model there is already new sw. So each model can be updated. It doesn't matter if there is campaign or not. As I read your previous posts it looks like you have the latest sw for your model. So there is unfortunatelly nothig you can do now. Even if there is service campaign formally created for your model of octavia. You already have latest sw. Only option for now is to wait if there will be new sw for your model. That can be really frustrating. But as you mentioned your experiences previously it looks like it behaves differently than "standard kangaroo characteristic". It looks like your engine has more serius issues that cant be solved by latest sw fix. This is just my guess.
  3. No. Recall action means that you will be contacted directly (letter, phone) to get your car fixed. Action 24ev was also mentioned to me when they updated my octavia MY2019. They told that 24ev action is currently just for karoqs. I don't know what is the truth. This is what I've heard. Anyway my car was updated with the latest sw even I did not suffer from kangaroo and it behaves much better and is much more responsive.
  4. Nothing special was wrong. I just wanted to have the latest update applied because I felt that the engine could be better and there were some reports also on other forums that mentioned better throttle response, better dynamic of the engine etc...so I tried and I'm satisfied. so far 400 km driven since update
  5. I have Octavia MY2019 as well with the same ECU number. I didn't have the kangaroo issue but the latest update has been applied today. I've driven around 100km so far since the update and it's a better car. Smooth, more dynamic and definitelly better response on throttle pedal. So far very satisfied.
  6. Did anyone manage to find out what is causing this issue? For me it happens randomly. Sometimes it resets also other things (since start, since refueling, long term, trip and also clock is reset from GPS to manual setup). Sometimes it takes 1000 miles to reset sometimes 500. Sometimes I happens 2-3 times a day! I already contacted my dealer via email but no response so far. I read on other forum that it can be caused by fluctuations of voltage in the battery. But no one knows why also Skoda is struggling to find out root cause. Does anyone has some more info regarding this? it is really frustrating
  7. @kifir this is really strange. When I enter my VIN to erwin I see the tpi where it is stated that update is available. I have O3 my2019. Another strange thing is that my car is not affected by kangaroo issue
  8. There is mentioned that to prevent kangarooing it is needed over-revving the engine in some of the earlier posts. I'm just curious what do you see as over-revving? how many revs? What do you consider as normal revs when pulling away?
  9. The thing is that 1.5tsi 150hp version doesn't use miller cycle. Only 130hp version does. We are here as well as in mentioned troc forum talking about 150hp version.
  10. My Octavia 1.5 tsi manual is built in December 2018. I don't have this 'characteristics'
  11. Hello I'm new to this forum. I wrote similar post to Octavia thread but I would like to write it also here because here it is more alive . I've recently obtained my new Octavia 1.5tsi with manual gearbox. I would like to ask some questions or add my view related to this problem/characteristic. 1. I've seen some threads here for Octavia regarding issues with high revs or nose dive/kangaroo issues but not as many as for koroq or t-roc forums. There are many many more complains regarding this issue and more and more people complain for other models. This engine and gearbox is same across all VAG group (as far as I know). I'm wondering why are there only some models of cars where people complain about these issues. For some models there are only few people complaining (like here in Octavia thread) and for some models there are no complains 2. As i mentioned I bought my new Skoda Octavia with 1.5tsi engine and manual gearbox. I can pull away pretty smooth without nose dive but when there is cold start I can't fully release the clutch in 1st gear. I need to change to 2nd gear a little bit before the clutch is fully released. Another option is to use higher revs. Also when I use only clutch to pull away (without any throttle) when engine is cold I need to change to 2nd gear before the clutch is fully released. When i change to 2nd there is no lack of power and car is moving smoothly without any issues. in some time after the cold start when the engine is warmer I can release the clutch fully in first gear on pull away. Does anyone anyone have same experiences? I mean i can live with that "characteristic" i just need to be careful when I have cold start I need to change to 2nd before the clutch is fully released and after some time I can do what ever I want. I still wonder how it is possible that there is different behavior for this engine across VAG group models. Or is it the same but just different people feel it differently?
