  1. I’m looking at these types of bags. Nothing that will sit directly on the roof/rails.
  2. Haha, no need for plywood I’m sure but thanks for the offer!
  3. Thanks, I’ve red the post but the discussion is mostly about not to place the bag, or anything for that matter, directly on the roof (I have roof bars and would use them for the bag) and what bars he could get.
  4. Perhaps not a Yeti subject but always nice to get input from fellow Yeti owners. I’m looking at roof top cargo bags, I think a bag is the way to go. It would be used when I’m doing road trips and as I have made it possible to sleep in the car the whole car would be used as a base camp. So the roof bag would be used for storing cooking equipment and so on, things in different sizes and shapes. I also like that the bag can be folded when stored. Now, the main concern I have is the aerodynamics and also perhaps noise. Does anyone here have any experience of using these roof top bags?
  5. Okey, I was quite sure I had reed this somewhere and that it was normal. Yeah, that’s what I do to, fiddling around with the radio and looking at my perfect face...... Anyway, great I don’t have to pay the mechanics 120$ for nothing. Thanks!
  6. Hi, My Yeti will sometimes make a rumbeling noise when I start it up after it has not been used for let’s say a day. To me, the noise comes from the exhaust but the engine revs up a bit during this time. After about 15-20 seconds the noise will end and the engine will rev down to normal state. If I start driving during the noise the car will jump a bit, just like the engine doesn’t get enough fuel injected or something, I’m no mechanic so this is of course just a guess. The funny thing is that this only happens if it’s warm outside, like above 15 celsius. Especially if the car has been sitting in the sun. I have reed (from what I remember) in other forums that this is normal behavior, a way for the engine to handle humidity or something and wasn’t any issue really. You just wait for the engine to get ready and then drive away. Now I wanted to check with you guys if there is anyone experiencing the same thing? The car mechanics couldn’t say what it’s about and I had to leave the car for a checkup for about 120$ to just search it.
  7. So, I’m home after approximately 300km of driving in various speeds. Now, the rain poured down all the way except from the very last bit of the journey. At no time did I hear any noise that I wasn’t used to, that’s what I can say about potential noise from the bars. The rain shattered the windshield and the rain soaked road gave of a constant noise. But again, other than that nothing I wasn’t used to. The last bit, around 30km, the rain stoped. Still the noise from the soaked road but nothing from the bars as I could tell. 🙂
  8. Okey, I never use the daylight running light since in Sweden we always use the main headlights. But when I turn the cornering lights are activated and lights up both the daylight and true foglights. So, If I would like to have a more consistent temperature on all lights I would need to replace the daylight running light bulb and the true foglight bulb. I've been recommended the "Osram Night Breaker Laser" for the true foglight as I understand it, but what about the daylight running light, what would be a good replacement?
  9. I took a look at the fog lights today and there are actually two bulbs. In order to have both bulbs the same color temp as the main xenon lights, what would the second (not the osram night breakers) be?
  10. Yeah, I’m aware of these but they are a brand new design from the old 400 as I understood it when talking to the roof rail guys and they haven’t got any from Thule yet. Also I actually like the looks of the 775 feet and I also think they are a tad lower.
  11. Sure, I’ll snap some tomorrow. I will take a longer ride next weekend, mainly on highway, I’ll share my thoughts on that. Yeah, I can see the benefits of using load stops transporting timber, I seldom do and if shorter distances. But I will actually try making my own for the Evo system, could be fun and hopefully useful.
  12. Even better, angled brackets.
  13. Actually, a couple of consoles and wing nuts should do the trick? Perhaps a bit of adjustment to the console but should work, or am I to optimistic? 😏 Shorten the ends to a desired length on both sides and perhaps drill two holes for the t-bolt, slam on wing nuts to fasten. 😅
  14. Could be a fun little project, gonna order me some t-bolts and see what one could come up with.
  15. Mounted and ready! 👏 Hm, that’s a real shame! When do you find them useful, in what situations? Shouldn’t a good fastening with “ropes” (don’t know the English word) do? Anyway, making your own load stop out of wood should be to hard with the T-bolt setup when I think about it. Perhaps not pretty but hey, paint it black and no one would even think about it. 😏
  16. Tried a search and only found "Osram Night Breakers Laser", are these the same? When reading upon these it specifies that they are used as high beam/low beam, I'm looking for bulbs to replace the fog lights? I also found a variant called "Osram Night Breakers Silver" but no "Osram Night Breakers". Do I have to check anything else than the socket (h7) and that they are halogen/xenon base lights in order to make sure they will fit? Cheers
  17. Thanks, I’ll give them a try. 👍
  18. Do you know of any that doesn’t give that much light but still have a more white hue? I’m really not interested in maximizing the amount of light, just changing the hue to a more white luminance. I mean it’s okey if they omit a bit of more light but nothing crazy.
  19. Cheers! Haha, yeah I don’t why I wrote LED in the title, maybe because that’s what everybody talks about these days... 😅
  20. Would like to have a more consistent luminance between the main xenon lights (I think) and the corner/fog light. Right now the xenons are much more blue in hue than the corner/fog. Has any one fitted other lights to these, perhaps with a more blue hue similar to the main? What type of light did you use? Cheers
  21. Don't we all when it comes to length?
  22. So, I've just ordered a package of Thule WingBar Evo 127 in black with Thule Rapid System 775. Will post a photo of the mounted bars when they arrive.
  23. Hm, but the WingBar Evo I have been looking at are 127cm so I guess that would be the same. Around 100mm you say, was hoping for less...
  24. I'm thinking of using this as a "filler" for the gaps? https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/products/build/epoxies/loctite_repair_puttyall-purpose.html Also, I was thinking and perhaps a good idea is to paint the whole thing with Plastidip instead of spray painting it?
