Thanks Groaver the economy as you mentioned would be up by 7mpg to our S max and we do less than 6,000 miles a year hence why I think a diesel would be a disaster with dpf! Rob

Hi thanks for accepting me to the group. I currently own a S max 2.5t which we’ve had for nearly 11 years and has 60,000 miles. I’m currently trying to persuade SWMBO to get a Superb Estate around 2016 onwards. Ideally SportLine or L&k spec with Sunroof. I’m probably thinking petrol with the miles we do asi think having diesel might be a disaster with Dpf!I would love the 280 petrol but wonder if that’s a step to far and the 220 would suffice. Never had a dsg are they as clunky as I’ve heard or better suited to the petrol motor? What’s the real world mpg like on these two ? We currently have a Mk 7 Golf gti too so familiar with the engine. Is the 1.4 Tsi underpowered especially when loaded up or not too bad ? Thanks Rob
