Hi Mr Tibbs, I think both cars are on ebay ? if so the 09 as a towbar fitted ? I seem to remember years ago been told not to buy a car with a towbar, and especially a auto box thats been used for towing, whether this still holds good, I don't know. Actually they both have tow bars if they are the cars you'r looking at.

I think the battery had become discharged from the car not been used very much, and when it was used it was very short journeys in the dark, thats why the charger was used. I've just got back from the garage, and I ran the the scenario of the charger been wrongly connected, and his reply was, " that would fry the cpu" He then rang vw?audi specialists to let them know what might have happened, I'll let you know how this develops.

The Battrey charger is alive and well the battrey not so good won't hold any charge and is showing 7 volts, the abs light as come on also the brake light is flashing and beeping, the engine managment light and the steering wheel icon is also lit, the speedo as stoped working and the fuel gauge drops from full to 1/2 when the footbrake is applied, the local vw audi specialists are stumped, vag com as flaged 19 faults, the abs is not comunicating with the cpu, and they think its maybe a wiring fault, but not sure.

Well, its not my car, and I don't know if thats what has happened, it's just something I suspect might have happened. was just putting it out there as an hypothetical question to see if someone could throw some light on the consequences of doing such a thing. The car is in a mess so don't try this at home.

If Someone used a small 4amp batterey charger on a scout, and connected it the wrong way round with the battery still in the vehicle ?

Can anyone tell me whats the best/easiest way to get to them, I've got one thats come lose, and droped back into the rear bumper, they seem to be all working.

I hope this is the scenario and nothing more sinister, I guess I will have to live with it now. Fitting auto lights is not a route I'm going to go down, as there is a myriad of other problems to resolve, starting with getting the heater to blow warm air, thankfully the heated seats are been put to good use.

God alone knows, first time her in doors took it out, she left the lights on, and flatend the battrey, god job I had some jump leads,

It has got the self dimming rear view mirror, and the rain sensor, no kick plates, I've seen auto lights on pre face lift models, so I'm thinking the head lights and switch most have been swapped out !

No rush I'm just a bit perplexed, not noticed anything embroidered on the front seats,

Nope Not even silver Laurin & Klement kick plates on the upper sill.
