  1. Hi sorry for late reply. I had a thought. I didn’t mention before that the three t track square feet on the bike rack don’t slide loosely/smoothly into the roof bar slots, presumably because the two bars are not 100% parallel. Maybe this is preventing me from clamping the two front levers?
  2. Hi, thanks for your message. I have loosened the t track bolts as much as I can without the levers falling off the threads. But this still isn’t enough to allow me to clamp/lock the levers onto the bars.
  3. Hi all, I recently fitted some evo wingbars (7112) to my octy mk3 estate and have since bought a used bike rack (591), which i am having problems fitting to the bars. The bike rack uses 3 t track bolts (two 60mm at front and one 35mm at rear) which have levers on that are supposed to tighten and clamp the rack to the bars. However, I seem unable to tighten and lock the two front levers (back one is fine). Any ideas what could be causing this? I have the levers as high up the bolt threads as possible so do I need to find some longer bolts?
  4. Thank you Paulski. Yep, I learned that 757 is the old code for 7104 and that 961 (118 bars) is the old code for 7112.
  5. Hi all, I am looking for some Thule roof bars for my octy mk3 estate. it seems that 7104 (foot pack) and 7112 (bars) are the right codes but does anyone have the old part numbers before Thule changed them a few years back?
  6. Thank you for your suggestion. I will give it a go.
  7. Hi all, my mk2 2006 estate has recently developed a knocking noise at the front of the car. It sounds like it is quite high up and towards the rear of the engine bay. The noise seems to be particularly bad at low speed when the car is breaking or coasting and also on driving/reversing downhill. It isn’t engine related as I can also hear the noise when the car is turned off (eg when rocking front up back or side to side). My local garage reckons it could be a top front suspension mount but haven’t taken a close look other than get the car on a ramp to check underneath. Any ideas what the noise could be? I suspect it probably is suspension related but don’t know if there are any such issues that are common on mk2 Octavias? I have also heard of people having to replace console bushes? Whetever it may be, it is very annoying but I don’t want to spend hundreds trying to locate the problem unless I can be quite sure what the problem is! Many thanks in advance for any feedback.
  8. Yes, I checked all of this again today and all seems fine. The driver footwell was a bit damp but I think it’s due to wet shoes more than water ingress.
  9. Thank you both. Can I just check that following your instructions above should eliminate the problem in the REAR footwell?
  10. Hi all, after noticing a damp/mouldy smell in my Octy mk2 estate a while back, I finally got round to investigating today. What I have discovered is that the rear footwell on the drivers side is soaking wet but not sure why at first glance. Our driveway is on a slope and we park the car facing upwards, so I would have expected the damp to be making its way from front the front of the car to back. Will try parking the car the other way round. Under the seat is dry, the boot is dry (although the tailgate holds water) the roof lining is dry, the door seals look fine and the driver footwell appears to be dry. Could it be soaking up through the floor? Is this a common problem with these cars? I have had it just over a year but hadn’t noticed any issues until today, following lengthy spells of rain and wind. Any thoughts most welcome!
  11. Thanks Sticky, I have found 2 part numbers but not sure which is the right one for my car: 1Z0949101D 3T0949101 Any idea?
  12. Hi, I am looking for a n/s mirror indicator light cover for my mk2 elegance estate. Something like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Left-PASSENGER-SIDE-WING-MIRROR-INDICATOR-Skoda-Octavia-mk2-2004-2008-lamp/391608024380?hash=item5b2da83d3c:g:s5oAAOSw51JbaqJz I understand that some have built in puddle lights and some don’t, which affects whether the wire connection in the mirror is a 2 pin or 3 pin. My car does have puddle lights but does anyone know the part number so I can source the correct part for my car? Thanks in advance!
  13. Hello everyone, I currently have a pretty tired looking set of Pegasus 17 inch wheels on my BKD estate. I am thinking of replacing them with some oem alloys off a mk2 VRS, but the ones I have found appear to be 18 inch and not 17 inch? Can someone please confirm whether the MK2 VRS alloys come in 17s, 18s or both? Thanks in advance!
