  1. My 1.2 tsi would get into the 50's on a long run but im quite light footed. Around town it would drop like a stone most of the time to low 40's. Try using different petrol. My tsi responded better on Tesco 99ron fuel where mid 40's round town was fairly easy.
  2. Yeh there great. There both averaging well over 70mpg on a tank to tank calculation.
  3. Just a quick post to say thanks for your help and support over the past year or so. Ive recently sold my TSi fabia due to an ongoing dispute with skoda and needing better mpg now my work has changed. So THANKS GUYS !!
  4. Hi guys, Ive browsed the 'how to' and also had a bit of a search but cant seem to find the answer to this question. My dad has a Mk2 VRS (60) and recently hit a bit of debris on the m6. Luckily the front bumper was undamaged but its smashed the passenger side foglight to the point thats its junk. Now i can obviously buy a new fog light but im wondering if any Octavia owners could point me in the general direction on how to fit one. Many thanks Ben
  5. Thinking more of another aygo now as we get 80 odd mpg out of that Toyota offering 9k for the fabia. Considering the problems its had I may just jump while its working
  6. Yeh thats what im thinking. Skoda themselves are only offering 8.5k. Hopefully the VAT offer will end soon
  7. Hi Ive recently moved locations with work and now im doing a lot more travelling meaning im possibly going to have to go back to a diesel. Ive been having various offers on my tsi elegance with 4500 on the clock. They range from 6500 - 8000. Now i appreciate that the VAT offer is going to keep second hand values down but i thought there taking the p*** a bit. Whats anyone's opinions ? Ben
  8. I'd say being a skoda if its only a few years old with very high mileage i'd probably avoid.
  9. No the window wasnt frozen, the car had been garaged most of the day. I had no option to use the window as none of the doors were working again (from the outside anyway) so had to pop down the window using the remote and open from the inside out. I'm sure its something to do with dodgie central locking but im no mechanic. Its so frustrating as we brought an Aygo the same week as the Skoda, its done double my 2500 miles and not missed a beat !
  10. Well its broken AGAIN !! This time the glass has actually popped out the top of the drivers window (this is kinda hard to explane) but there seems to be a bit of plastic come up through the door and is stuck to the window leaving it unable to close. After a few attempts the motor has completely stopped working now and the cars gone back yet again. This im my opinion is getting silly now. The cars less than 9 months old and been trouble free for less than 2 of that. Seriously starting to think about getting rid now and moving brands - feeling ripped off !!
  11. I have the fabia 1.2 tsi and the petrol cap says MINIMUM of 95 RON. I run mine of 99 with no issues now.
  12. I was wondering if this could happen. I keep wanting to wash my screen but im sacred that the washers would get stuck in the out position. Won't give it a try now. Tried using some warm water to see if that clears the ice (if there is any??)
  13. Yeh it wasnt frozen but the handle and mechanism are actually damaged
  14. First off must say very impressed with skoda assist. Rang them this morning at 5:45am in sub zero temps and they were out within the hour. The Fabia door finally gave up the ghost this morning and wouldnt shut, it would just seem to bounce off the latch. Anyway a call to SA and they came out the guy spent hours looking at it and managed to bodge it together to let me get to the dealer. SA rated A+ in my opinion.
  15. You'll pay a deposit of some sort when ordering the car. On collection you'll obviously drop off your part ex (if there is one) and drive away in the new one. A month after collection the first finance payment will be made and it may be slightly higher than normal as it may include finance setup charges etc. 60 days after handover the normal finance payments will commence (if your first one included the setup charges).
  16. No, i meant. On poor quality petrol in urban conditions (stop start) is about 25mpg in ex urban/motorway it was 40's. On better quality petrol (shell/bp/esso etc) urban conditions in the 40mpg and ex urban (motorway) in the high 50's. Urban = 0-40mph Ex urban 50-80 mph.
  17. Hi Best, I cant claim to have watched the revs v speed v mpg as i tend to change up and down when maxidot tells me too. As for the noise its not an issue, although there is a nice tone when the engine starts to rev higher up the band. As for Mpg im running on 99 rom fuel now and can easily get 40 mpg round town and 55-60 on a long run. On 95 ron (morrisons) it was a different story round town 25 on a run 40-45.
  18. My Fabia tsi has developed a rather annoying problem. I found out tonight the handles on the inside of the door dont open the door leaving me to open the window and using the outside handle in order to escape. I've troed 3 million presses on the remote and unlock button near the gear stick but nothing. Needless to say its going back to skoda on monday if they like it or not.
  19. Totally agree, it was so easy in the mk1 vrs i had, this one is a bi*ch!
  20. I keep being tempted by them but im worried should i have a smash of some sort im gonna be left high and dry by the insurance company. I opted for the light washers etc but was a bit gutted xenons were not an option.
  21. Hi Naresh, Try getting closer to the car with the remote key. I find that the key will open the car from quite a long way away but the opening of the window literally only works from a few feet.
  22. heated seats - not turned mine off in about 3 weeks.
  23. well fitted them, there bloody hard to attach back to the car. So far the lights seem quite good. There crisp white with no yellow at all. The only negative so far is they dont seem to reach as far as the original bulbs.
