  1. Ok thanks, bugger, not sure what is wrong with the new unit then. I swapped them out but now the front fog light is not coming on. The rear fog light works. Wonder if there is an issue with the new unit then as it's identical.
  2. Hello, If I was to change the headlight switch unit with a new one, would I need to get it programmed? When I put the lights on the front fog lights keep flicking. Definitely an issue with the unit because if I put a pin inbetwen the turning part of the switch and the body it stops. Thanks for any help
  3. Hello, I am after a little help of possible. Not sure if this is the right section to ask. My wife has a 2011 1.2 roomster with central locking but using the key in the barrel. I was wondering if anyone has retrofit remote central locking to these cars and if anyone has a link to the kit required, and is it an easy enough task. I did phone Skoda but they say they no longer do the kits. I have seen loads of various kits on online but not sure if they are any good or as simple as they look to install. Any help will be greatly appreciated, we are Dorset based so if anyone does this sort of thing then feel free to get in touch as happy to get someone else to fit ha ha. Thanks in advance for any help
  4. Thanks for your help and sorry for my late reply. We have been away for a while so I have not had the chance to check any of your suggestions yet. I will check over the next couple of days and report my findings. Thanks again for your suggestions it is much appreciated
  5. Hello, I have a Roomster 3 2007. I have an issue with my fog lights not working. The side lights, headlights and steering (direction) lights work fine. I decided to replace the light switch module (like for like) which has not cured the issue, so I am thinking I have another fault somewhere. Just wondering if anyone might have some ideas or some checks I can carry out to find out what the issue may be. Thanks in advance for all help and advice given Bluedusty
  6. To be fair a Carista OBD2 for £25 seems a fairly good option going forward. Obviously I can imagine a cost for the app as well. Although VCDS does seem better (Reading Reviews) but can't really justify the extra cost. As you can probably tell, I am new to this sort of thing, is it a case of plug play and find or more in detail than that? Cheers again for your advice and help, much appreciated
  7. Hi b1ackb1rd, Maybe a job for when I am next off then. Is there an easy way to find out which one/ones may be faulty, or is it sensible to just replace them all as it's a 14yr old car. Thanks for the help it is much appreciated. Bluedusty
  8. Hi Chris, I might have a play then to see what happens if I disconnect the sensors I can get at. I presume though, it would still give the same fault due to them all not being connected. Hopefully though it will see it differently if disconnected.
  9. Hi, Just wondering if anyone could help me with an issue on my reverse parking sensors? When I put the car into reverse there is a quick beep, as in they are activated followed by a long beep then nothing. As I reverse back towards something nothing happens and no further beeps. I am suspecting the whole unit may be dead but did rear somewhere, one bad sensor can take them all out? I had a quick listen with my car in reverse to find out if I could hear them clicking but nothing. It also seems like two of them are ok to get at but the others would require me to remove the bumper. I have the Roomster dance stereo did I read correct that these sensors go into this unit somehow? If so would I be wise to look at upgrading this unit for a more modern one with Sat Nav and Bluetooth if I could keep the sensors providing I get them working of course. Pre thanks for any assistance. I am sure there will be many more questions along the way.
  10. Hi Tabasco, Thanks for the diagram. I have a rearview mirror dashcam that my reverse camera is connected to, so I have run mine all the way along the head lining. I just can't figure out the way to run the red wire from inside the vehicle to the outside light cluster (I mounted my camera inside the boot). I think I may have to remove the rear quarter plastic panel inside the boot. I hate taking these off though as I am bound to break something and not sure if that is the way the wiring loom runs to the light cluster. To be fair I have only got the camera so I can see how close I am to the car behind, if all the red wire provides is auto switch to reverse camera and provide guide lines I may not worry about it anyway. I have not looked to see if it has any other function to be fair. Thanks again for your help
  11. Hi Tabasco, I have just bought a dashcam with reverse camera and I was wondering how you managed to get the wire into the lighting area, I can't see a way to route it from within the car easily. Did you manage to figure out which wire was for the reverse light? Cheers Bluedusty
  12. Hi, Thinking of buying the wife a Roomster 1.2 HTP on an 11 plate. Just wondering if anyone knows of any major problems with these to look out for. I am aware that there was issues with the TSI version of the 1.2 but the HTP seems to be a pretty good option. It will be mainly for the wife to use in and around town for work and school runs with the odd motorway trip max 70 miles. I did try to search for issues with the engine model but didn't return much luck and every VIN check wanted payments. Any help much appreciated Bluedusty
  13. Ok thanks, the wife will just have to get used to it, don't think that will be a problem as she loves the car. Can't believe that central Locking even in manually turning the key in the lock was not standard in 2005 ha ha
