  1. AmD...less than an hour away and I like the idea of a one stop shop.👍
  2. So...going to order some Bilstein B4s as I don't need race handling... but would like to change the springs as well but don't really want to mess with the Std ride height. Been searching for the last couple of days and can't seen to find better springs at stock sizes. Can anyone point me in the right direction....and don't say 30mm lower😛. Also anyone got a PD160 intake they want to sell......stupid prices new!!!! Finally can anyone reccomend someone in the west surrey/ M25/ heathrow area that can do a mild remap. Thanks in advance🥰
  3. O.K....for a few days I got all Giddy and excited that I may be buying a new car but alfer looking at everything on offer, Nothing floated my boat. As Fabia owner, it's obvious that I'm not in the bling camp and used to enjoy embarrasing pumped up Audis and BMs on dual carriageways with this 'dull little car', But I'm a little more sensible these days, so thought I ought be sensible and move the old girl on. My feet have been brought back to the ground as you guys have convinced me that the cash I was going to splash on something else should be better spent. so over the winter I'll be putting on new suspension...a decent stereo/satnav/reversing camera and of course the mandatory rechip...and maybe get those little signs of age on the paintwork worked on. Must admit it I've always been a fan of the way electric cars develope torque and even their 'cooking' models have some serious 0-60 times, so it will only be a matter of time ...
  4. leaning towards this but having driven 'new' cars, I like reversing cameras phone sinking and flasher displays. Just put 4 new tyres on the car a so might be worth spendong £500 on a decent stero/satnav etc
  5. Tend to keep my cars for 8-12 years....just can't justify the cost of a battery car...and none of them takes my fancy either. Had a look at a 1.4 turbo swift...they can be chipped up to 170bhp and 280NM. That could be fun in a car that weighs less than 1000KG.
  6. Been a member for a while and made use of the posts on here often. (Thanks)😉. Not been much of a contributor as my Vrs is pretty much std...and there has always been people who know so much more. But time has come after 12 years to change cars but I can't seem to find anything that compares to the good old fabia. Thought abought a Juke Nismo but didn't like the fact you have to rev it to get anywhere. What cars have any of you guys gone on to buy...and been happy with? ( looking for somthing a couple of years old.) P.S. Whats my old girl worth...56 reg..88k miles..average condition but unmodded and full service history. Or do I just keep it and mod the hell out of it.
  7. P.S...My radio has the of off button right in the center!
  8. Thanks...but that's whats caused my problem....I've mesed with the settings on that menu when I didn't know what they were for...A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.... I'm sure someone will tell me what to do...ha ha GaryvRS
  9. Thanks for the welcome Guys and gals. I've learnt that it's best not to feed the car into bends but to load the suspension up by throwing it in late. But that does make it a bit interesting if it's a bit slippery. I promised myself that I'd leave it basically STD but I'm already getting itchy to mess with the supension and get the engine mapped.... See you soon
  10. Hi I havn't been on here since I first got my car in april. Could anyone point me in the right direction to get a manual for my symphony 6 cd radio. I thought I'd suss it in time but every time I try to turn off the TP function, I find I've altered the setup some where else. Cheers GaryvRS
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome. Starting to get used to the car, like not braking so hard and being a bit smoother with the clutch. I'm even getting used to the steering. Although I must admit, I do think it's a bit lifeless. Is there anyway of making it give a bit more feedback? Are the origional fit tyre a bit to blame? I am a bit spoilt as a few years ago I had a Clio Williams and I know it's not going to be that good but would welcome any experience you guys would like to divulge. Cheers Gary
  12. So I had to settle for an the demo. Good afternoon peeps. I was a bit slow on realising what a terrific car the fabia vRS was & by the time I got myself to the dealers I couln't get a new one! Still I got a very good deal on the ex-demo car. I suppose i could have waited for the special edition end of line car but I'm not a great fan of whistles and bells on cars for the sake of it, so a nice stock silver one will be sitting on my drive in a couple of days. Hope I will be able to contribute to this forum, and the threads I have seen so far have been very interesting. Cheers Gary:thumbup:
