I have a Fabia with the 1.6 TDI (remaped), and during the whole of my studies I was doing 400Km a week (2x200km) of highway, was a perfect engine for that as I consumed less than 5L of fuel per 100km. Also did quite a few long trips with no issues whatsoever, for vacations in Austria or even moving (meaning much more stuff loaded in it) to the UK and now to Czech Republic (I'm originally from France) However now that I am in Mlada Boleslav doing my end of study internship I do only drive short distances so i'm quite worried for it. I don't know where I'll work after my internship but I know that I want to get rid of diesel and finally get a petrol car. They are overall more fun and you don't need to do big trips with them. Would probably keep my Fabia longer if it was a petrol though, it's a great little car.

Do you have any update ? did the project go through ?

I do not understand how I am supposed to add the Module, when in Gateway instalation list there is no "add" nor "open" button

Is that something that has to be done with VCDS ? I'll check with my brother if he did that. Do you know roughly where this is ? In 17. Instrumentation ?

I Know, I dream about a Fabia RS but I can't sell my reliable Fabia to get one that could blow any moment. I would love it if Skoda made a new Fabia RS or maybe a Scala RS. If they don't I'll go for an Octavia RS

I think that whenever you disconnect an airbag an error shows up (orange airbag light on the dashboard). So to get rid of that light, I guess you will have to connect it. (I don't think the MOT would accept that for exemple)

I don't know it for a fact, but I'm 99% sure it is compatible. In an effort to cut down costs Skoda is probably using the same airbags in most of their cars having the same style of steering wheel center piece. When I changed the steering wheel in my Fabia the old airbag was compatible

Hello guys, Me and my brother were trying to retrofit an OEM rear view camera to its Octavia vRS. The issue is, now that it is installed and coded via VCDS, there is no picture. VCDS says an error like "no signal" for the camera. We are pretty sure that the camera is getting juice. Do any of you guys know what the issue might be ? Or how we can troubleshoot that ? because we have no idea if the problem is caused by cables not being in the right place in the autoradio, the signal cable broken, the camera not working, etc. Cheers

Yeah I do see the upsides of such an engine. But for me fuel economy is not on the top of my priority list so when I'll change car, it won't be a diesel anymore. Because eventough my remapped Fabia has a decent enough acceleration, it still makes a diesel noise and the rpm range is still short as hell. In fact I would already have bought a Fabia vRS if the engine was not made out of sugar.

How would you find less than 58mpg (if i get that right less than 5l/100km) a poor fuel economy ? The only way to have way less than that is to either have a very small engine displacement (no power or a quite big turbo) or to be an Hybrid. I do get on my 1.6 Tdi something like 4.7 L/100 km on my way to where i study (2h of motorway, 130 ish km/h), and i'm the one using the less fuel out of my friends.
