  1. Hello, my oil service is due in less than 200 miles, but my main service is due in about 10,000 miles, can i skip the interim oil service? and have the main service done in about 5,000 miles? Thank you in advance
  2. Hello, my 2016 skoda yeti was due an interim oil service about 200 miles ago, how many miles over can i realistically go over? thank you
  3. Update 2: Was taking a bit of a risk driving the car a few days ago, it was all fine, no faults, was on the motorway when i heard the ding and saw the "Diesel Particulate Filter - Owners Manual" message on the screen, the DPF light turned on, no adverse effects appeared to have happened, the light cleared about an hour later during idling, the scan tool now says its all fine? i will appreciate any helpful discussion on this, was this possibly a "DPF Regeneration"?
  4. Thank you! How much do you think this would cost? definitely going to my local garage tomorrow
  5. Update: In the last week the fault has been getting more persistent and frequent, sometimes the car would be fine and then it would show the "Engine Fault - Workshop!" message and start flashing the glowplug light, but as i said before, no loss in performance, the car drives the same, more recently however, is that the MIL has been coming on and staying on, sometimes with the coil light, sometimes on its own, or vice versa. I also got my OBD II Scan tool today so here's the code it pulled P2455 $07E8 Generic Diesel Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit High Is this a bad fault? does anyone here know what this means or have info on the fault? i googled it and it said its urgent and i should go to the garage? the scan tool also said its a serious fault, but there's no DPF light on the dash? I will appreciate any helpful discussion on the fault
  6. Well, this just happened Was driving down a bit of a hill when the dashboard warning ding went off, and there on the MFD display were the words "Engine Fault - Visit workshop" then as just as soon it appeared it cleared, we were still underway and even cycling through the menus on the dash showed no faults, except for the glowplug idiot lamp, it was blinking, we pulled over, had a quick look and a little rev and nothing appeared to be wrong we did the rest of the journey (which thankfully was return trip) just fine Any idea of what caused this? weird that it seemed fine after the alarm went off, the only i found that could of caused it was a plastic bag lodged in the air con, which was making an annoying turbine-like noise anyway Also it was about 30c outside, had the car for little over a year and this is the first time a warning like this has occurred Helpful advice will be appreciated
  7. Hello fellow Skoda owners! i am new here, as i have just created an account because well i own a Fabia Mk II, and to get advice on any problems or odd noises that may occur. This is one that has had me baffled, other car forums baffled, its a noise like metal on metal contact inside of the dashboard, like something spinning that makes contact with another part and scrapes against it with every revolution, its not the engine fan, not the camshaft, nor is it the air con, i have ruled all them out, the sound itself cannot be heard in the engine bay, only slightly towards the rear of the engine bay, near the firewall, that probably means whatever is making this sound is mounted on one of the sides of the firewall, whatever it is, it is something constantly spinning the entire time the engine (1.6 TDI I4) is running, it also follows the RPM of the engine, that means if the engine is revving higher the noise will be faster, its not possible to hear the sound at higher speeds or RPM because the noise of the engine itself drowns out the weird noise, but it definitely goes with the RPM of the engine, it could be the turbo, i am hoping its not because that's an expensive part, everything from pumps, servo motors, transmission, have all been possibilities, but it does not affect the operation of the vehicle, it can drive perfectly as if the noise wasn't there in the first place. Sometimes the noise varies in volume, from nearly inaudible to very noticeable, it also happens more in warmer weather, or after the car has warmed up, leading to me thinking that whatever the part is, its expanding and making contact as a result. I managed to get an audio recording of the sound while in traffic, the first file (fabi.mp3) is unedited, aside from some cutting out the part where you can hear the noise, and looping it 10 times, the "click" you can hear at the start of each loop is the indicator/turning signal stalk. The second file (fabiedited.mp3) is the same file, but i've added an "old telephone" EQ to it which brings out the high-end of the audio and removes the low-end, allowing the noise to heard more clearly. Either way i'm looking forward to hearing your advice, or if you've heard a noise like this in your skoda before, i will also appreciate any help or advice from this forum. fabi.mp3 fabiedited.mp3
